NIB 10-10-2005, 06:23 AM I like fireline 20 lb on the sand an 30lb on the rocks.Yea it gets fluffy but i still haVn't found anything that comes close abrasion wise.Cast's good enough for me.I have tried Power pro an tuff line an whiplash braids.Lost a few real good fish one the whiplash.Power pro is funny some times good sometimes mystery problems plus not as good abraision wise.have used it from 30lb to 80lb.The tuff line is new on a reel i used it some in the spring pencil poppin. 50lb doesn't cast as well IMO as the 30 fireline. fishaholic18 10-10-2005, 06:39 AM PP 50# JoeP 10-10-2005, 07:47 AM I've been using Power Pro, 30LB's to 50LB's, for a few years now and have had no problems. eelman 10-10-2005, 07:49 AM Ande Backcountry............... Saltheart 10-10-2005, 07:50 AM Cortland Spectron. Gotta find me some of that Ande Backcountry before it disappears, tho ;) pops 10-10-2005, 03:39 PM I stated offf using 30 lb pp , some 'nests' at first [my fault] respooled in shop tight and worked fine. had a break off so replaced with 30lb fireline... casts better / smoother and no knot problems [maybe just 20/20 from pp] the 3o lb fl got caught under my spool during a blitz and broke off SO ,now trying 20lb fireline [shop didnt have 30 fl], it casts a mile with a habs 2 oz popper 2oz hopkins [had a guy say WOW next to me one day casting as far as i could looking for action, he asked how much weight was on the lure ! ] :D basswipe 10-10-2005, 03:45 PM I use mono.Depends on which reel I'm using but I like Big Game,Yo-Zuri Hybrid. But I started using Spiderwire Stealth and I think it casts better. piemma 10-11-2005, 06:26 AM Tell em' who turned you on to the stuff !! :smokin: THE #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&!!!!! eelman 10-11-2005, 07:50 AM :hidin: THE #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&!!!!! The Dad Fisherman 10-11-2005, 07:54 AM I'm on my 2nd year with 50 lb. The stuff just sails through the guides like NO-OTHER.....however,,,, I have had several instances with PP (unexplainable breaks in the line) that really peeee'd me off. Fireline is more reliable but not as smooth. IMO I just spooled up my Nautil with some Gorilla Braid...haven't casted it yet though...... For mono, of course it's Big Game pops 10-12-2005, 09:27 AM unexplainable breaks ... my bro'inlaw had similar due to a micro fracture in the ceramic of the tip top . he couldnt figure it out 'till we relined and as I pulled it to get more line out it cut like a razor. ? bloocrab 10-12-2005, 06:55 PM I know what you're talking about with fractures in the guides,,,, not the case in my scenario.... Defects in the line itself. I was so annoyed and determined one of the times that I hand peeled all the line off under bright light and investigated every inch.......found what looked to be defective spots along the line...areas that looked crushed or pinched. ???...I checked another spool and it wasn't the same.....???......I think there are some bad spools bouncing around...I sent them a letter,,,, I heard nothing?...BUT, I WILL STILL BUY PP.... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
