....Sometime in the future, I believe theres another one planned. I'm sure it too,...will be well organized and am looking forward to it. The only problem with that is....its ..."Sometime in the future" ;) ...well me and Striper1 are ready to do a short notice one....ASAP!!! JohnR 02-21-2002, 11:04 AM I'm going to talk to Chub'sDad tonight or tomorrow to find out where we're at for the Official Cod Trip, but last night TheBetterHalf asked me if I was going to the unofficial, underground, gray-market Cod Trip, well - Maybe ;) ...
We'll see if I'm allowed out an extra time here ;) ...
schoolie monster 02-21-2002, 04:31 PM I hope the betterhalf ain't gonna be so stingy come striper season. Schoolie's got a new boat and hopes John R will be available to explore the Monomoy flats and other points of interest from time to time.
I'm already d#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g, so don't bother throwing anything at me... even if its a virtual shoe.
Slipknot 02-21-2002, 06:32 PM A new Boat Schoolie? WOW :), please tell us more, please.
I love boats, they just don't like me or my empty wallet.:(
I detect a monomoy night excursion.

SUNDAY MARCH 3

JohnR 02-22-2002, 09:05 AM Hey Schoolie, don't you think that the SS Tiny Boat may be a bit small for Monomoy? I agree that it's small enough that we could pull it up on the beach and surf fish at night :)
bloocrab 02-22-2002, 05:00 PM Striper1, I checked with the boss....and she  said it was OK...:D:D:D

JohnR 02-24-2002, 07:17 AM figure an hour and a half at 75 mph...
Swede 02-25-2002, 08:44 AM I can hardly see my monitor through all the tears streaming down my face:( :(  . I just called up Walsh's to make Sundays reservations and the boat is sold out ..How about the following Sun??
schoolie monster 02-25-2002, 02:15 PM Slip, I got the Logic 17' center console. The brand is now triumph, but this was a 2001 leftover. Its rigged with a honda four-stroke and a bow mount minn kota riptide. I added a lowrance fishfinder w/temp gauge. And Santa brought me a Garmin GPS 76 handheld and a Hummingbird VHF handheld radio.
So, as you can imagine, I'm pretty freaked to get it out on the water, but I'm trying to maintain some composure since we're still a couple months from fish.
Its still an inshore boat and will be good for fishing the harbor and getting out on those ledges in the Cohassett/Scuituate area. It will also be perfect for my yearly Nantucket vacation.
It will be a nice step up from my aluminum.
As for monomoy... John... they fish the monomoy flats with flats boats which are less seaworthy than my boat. That's the part of monomoy I want to fish. I like the light tackle inshore stuff... I'm not all that interested in boat rods, wire line, tube'n'worm, parachute jig, trollin' in 40 feet of water type fishing. I'd like to try that stuff, I have nothing against it, but I don't want a boat for it. I'll target big fish at night, from the surf.
I weighed alot of factors in picking a boat. Easy to trailer, ability to store in my garage, reasonable price, and low maintenance. Then I matched that to the type of fishing I like to do and the features I wanted.
The Logic had most of what I wanted and I was able to get it now and I'll own it within a couple years.
TheSpecialist 02-25-2002, 09:27 PM  Greg sound like a nice little setup. I got the Garmin Gps 76map for Xmas also. I use it for deer hunting. It has all the nav markers built in, as well as sun, moon, and tide data for whatever area you put in.
Slipknot 02-25-2002, 10:35 PM Excellant! That sounds like that boat is perfectly suited for you, good luck with it. :) You won't have any worries if you happen to bounce the hull off one of those ledges either, since it's ropelene. And the low maintenence thing is great too. I'm happy to hear you got a Honda on the back of it, you'll love it. I have a 9.9 and it is nice.
Got Stripers 02-26-2002, 09:29 AM You stay away from my ledges :).

schoolie monster 02-26-2002, 11:18 AM Bob, I told you before... one morning you're gonna get to one of your ledges and see a message on your favorite rock:
"Schoolie Monster was HERE"
If that doesn't get your attention, I'm gonna hang a dead striper head on a pole right on top. Then I'll have the mojo.
Thanks Slip and Specialist... I'm happy with it. Honestly, I really wanted the Boston Whaler 18' Dauntless. What a sweet boat! But the boat show special price with 4 rebates and added bonus equipment was about 3 times what I paid. Plus that boat is so pretty, I'd be afraid to bring a fish onboard...
Specialist, I used my GPS to plot a course around my block the other day and was able to successfully navigate my way back around without incident... I did however notice some of my neighbors hurrying their kids into the house and shutting their curtains.
I think yours is the next version up... I haven't explored all the options yet, but I don't think I can download as detailed of maps as the 76 GPSmap. Fun toy though.
