View Full Version : Flounder TheSpecialist 02-24-2002, 07:50 PM Alright whos gonna go for flatties off the shore. If the weather stays like this it should get interesting. STEVE IN MASS 02-25-2002, 07:09 AM Thought it was closed until May 1? Or is that Just March 1 thru May 1? Swede 02-25-2002, 07:42 AM I used to do real well fishing off Wollaston beach near Blacks creek for Flounder. Maybe time to try it again! Canalratt1 02-25-2002, 10:15 AM Specialist around Shell Point, and Buttermilk Bay is good. You can keep three. It will get upped to ten May 1st again but be sure to check the Regs. Freshwater bass are biteing I have to get ready for the tournies. Scotch Bonnet 02-25-2002, 07:00 PM Whats a ''freshwater bass'' TheSpecialist 02-25-2002, 09:21 PM Steve they changed the regs. It opens March 1 3 fish. STEVE IN MASS 02-28-2002, 11:13 AM Yeah? Is that for sure? If so, I'm giddy!!! There's a spot, aw, what the hey, everyone knows of it.....the PP Bridge, that always gave up good flounder in late March and April, but by the May 1 opening, slowed down considerably. Beacuse of that, haven't fished it for flounder in years.....and there's a secret to getting them.....um....you can take the long walk, thanks anyway....;) Can you say "can of corn"?......and in that vein, I once heard that a world record was negated on some species because the guy who caught it used canned corn as chum....something about the salt as an additive being unnatural and thus disqualifying.......Mr. Kav, wasn't that the Town of Needham water guy who told us that? Canalratt1 02-28-2002, 01:16 PM Shh about the corn! PP is also good for white-chins too! STEVE IN MASS 02-28-2002, 01:55 PM Hey, the corn wasn't the secret I was talking about, yah gotta read deeper, or maybe not, ;) than that).....but, I hear cat food works pretty good as well.....;) CaptDave 02-28-2002, 05:32 PM Rabbit Pellets...:D TheSpecialist 02-28-2002, 05:34 PM I also heard catfood. Steve you can confirm by going to the OTW site and reading the cape reports or calling some bait shops. So buddy feel like some flatties. By the way Tony there were some keeper cod caught last week at the Nut on clams. Canalratt1 03-01-2002, 04:21 PM Steve I was serious about the corn! Crushed mussels are good too. Bill if that report of cod was from Darryl i'll pass... JohnR 03-01-2002, 04:38 PM Bill if that report of cod was from Darryl i'll pass... I was drinking my D.C. and almost nose-squirted it all over my keyboard :laughs: - And I bet you've never played DARTS against him too, hehehehe... He's not that bad, just don't always expect the whole truth and nothing but the truth... and large eels are always 10 inches long  STEVE IN MASS 03-01-2002, 04:47 PM Oh, Canal....I'm serious about the corn as well......it works wonders....but at PP, there's also another secret....;).....keep thinking......:) PS...Capt....my last rabbit died about a year ago, and I ain't getting another...especially since my wife always looked so said when I made rabbit stew.....no, not from that one, store bought!!!! ;) Canalratt1 03-01-2002, 04:52 PM Hmm maybe steamers? STEVE IN MASS 03-01-2002, 05:01 PM Nah....wrong track....think warm.....:) (Okay, maybe with steamers, you're on the right track, hey they're warm when you eat them.......or could it be????......) TheSpecialist 03-01-2002, 05:20 PM Report was from Ron at the Sportsmans den. mini marshmellows:happy:  vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
