View Full Version : Small Accurate Scale???? afterhours 10-20-2005, 06:23 PM anyone know of a small accurate scale on the market. don't want to carry a freekin' health-o-meter with me. justplugit 10-20-2005, 06:32 PM AH, boga makes 3, i believe, upto a #15,a#30 and #60. Not cheap but worth every penny. afterhours 10-20-2005, 06:35 PM aren't they big and heavy? kinda like my chatillion? i mean small like fit into a sm as bag pocket. tattoobob 10-20-2005, 06:36 PM I was thinking the same thing lately and I didn't want to drop $120.00 on a scale. a portable spring scale I had a berkley digital and I am on #2 they say there water proof but there not. Mike P 10-20-2005, 08:13 PM Dunno if they still make them, but back in the 80s I carried a little Zebco (that's right, Zebco) "De-Liar" with me. Little spring scale, and not bad for accuracy. Usually within a pound or two About 4" by 6". MAC 10-20-2005, 08:47 PM Dunno if they still make them, but back in the 80s I carried a little Zebco (that's right, Zebco) "De-Liar" with me. Little spring scale, and not bad for accuracy. Usually within a pound or two About 4" by 6". Those worked pretty good. Only problem I had was the spring didn't really like the saltwater. The built in tape measure stopped working aftrer the 3rd or 4th outing. Very good for the money if ya can keep it dry. hunan 10-20-2005, 09:16 PM how 'bout a tailor's tape and a cheapo calculator. LxGxG/800, less of course you've got math-head and you don't need the calc. :btu: why don't you just buy a big ol' boga and make bigfish or your kid carry it. :rotfl: oh wait, they're both bigger than you so never mind. justplugit 10-20-2005, 09:48 PM Ya AF the bogas are a little heavy, but well balanced. If you make up a piece of flexible leather into a holster and hang it on the side of your belt you won't even know it's there. No maitenance required, all stainless, just wash it off from time to time. They are truly precesion instruments. Will last a lifetime. Surfpirate 10-20-2005, 10:12 PM I have a 30 pound boga that was certified over the winter by the IGFA. This year I have had 2 occasions when compared to a certified digital scale has been off by more than 2.5 pounds! has anyone tried the Xtools scale? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
