you never see new bowling alleys being built? They are kind of like drive-in theatres....they are all old and once in awhile we lose some to demolition and construction but you never see new ones being built! Anyone here like bowling? Ten pin or candlepin? I have never been ten pin bowling ever? I like to take my kids bowling on rainy or snowy days!

New's said the other day there won't be anything going up because of the shortage of hardwood..said something about this new craze called PLUG building and how all these fisherman have created a big demand on the resourse's that would have gone into new construction .

Bigfish,
I don't think there are any bowling pins that could take the beating you could give them.

I started bowling a few years ago. There's a bowling alley near me that was recently sold and the new owners renovated the whole place; resurfaced all the alleys, all new equip. All score keeping is computerized. It's a hangout for Jr High/High school kids on Fri/Sat nights (but they're all bowling). Sometimes Sat nights there is a waiting list for lanes. They pump decent music at full blast and sometimes turn the regular lights off and the black lights on. It's pretty cool.
They also do kiddie B-Day parties and the kidz love it.
