Anybody fish the canal this weekend ? I was thinking about it but the surf was pounding pretty hard up north and I didn't want to chance it .

There are some fish in there but the last good fish I took out of there was 10 or 12 nights ago and i'm fishing almost every night. Since then just small stuff, although every once in a while I am sure a better fish does go by, so I'm still at it...

There have been some fish on top at the changes during the day but they are mostly those micro bass that we saw this spring...

I was down the east end last Sunday AM , Lots of birds working hard just off shore , but nothing in the canal . I just hope they havent gone through or with this weather they don't even bother .
weather towards the end of the week looks OK , I'll hit it again .

I was on east end of Canal Friday and Sat. at dawn. Lots of birds on
eastern horizon moving into canal, moving down to Murderers Row. Almost all
rat bass and blues. Down by Submarine Monument birds following same small
fish from west end. Canal rats pumping like crazy to get ahead of the birds. I
just let my good ole chunk of mackeral stay where it was. Maybe mama bass
down deep--no joy.
Good chance mama and friends will move thru after this storm but I will be in
Rhoooooooode Islaaaaaaaand this weekend.
