View Full Version : bassmaster is out of action
chris L 02-26-2002, 02:55 PM I just heard from slipknot that bassmaster had an acident with a power washer . Apparently he was washing his work truck and the power washer was pointing at his hand and went off and he now has a hole in his hand . they are keeping him over night for observation . Slip knot knows all the particulars I know he will post them as soon as he can .
Dave Im praying for you bud !
Bob Thomas 02-26-2002, 03:04 PM Oh MAN!! Chris, thanks for the update.
Dave,
Hope ya get better soon! Let us know how you're doin'!
Best wishes!
JohnR 02-26-2002, 03:13 PM Hang in there Bud and holler if there is anything we can do for you! OK? Slip - let us know if there is anything we can do to help....
Thanks,
John
For those that aren't familiar with commercial pressurized power washers - fittings that develop more than 1200PSI can cut wood....
Fishpart 02-26-2002, 03:20 PM BM you better get healed up soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saltheart 02-26-2002, 03:22 PM Sorry to hear about your finger BM. Hope it heals well.
Slipknot 02-26-2002, 03:30 PM Yep, Chris is right. He put a hole in his middle finger of his left hand. So since he is a lefty, he is out of commision for a while. They will be monitoring him tonight and he hopes to go home tomorrow. They have to watch it closely so he doesn't get a bad infection and lose the finger. Needles to say, he won't be playing the guitar or spinning wood soon. I sure hope he's healed up soon so he won't miss herring season :(
Ya gotta be careful with those pressure washers, they'll cut right thru ya.
schoolie monster 02-26-2002, 03:35 PM Wow, those things sound scary.
BM, hope you get healed up soon. At least you have some time before the season starts.
Best of luck for a speedy recovery.

Got Stripers 02-26-2002, 04:56 PM Bummer that's not good news, especially with the striper season just around the corner. Get better soon, don't rush things and make it worse.
Swimmer 02-26-2002, 05:25 PM Not that I use one often if at all, but that is awful good to know for the next time I go to the truck wash. I am just sorry I had to find out how dangerous them buggers are from one of the guys on this list. :( :(
But since when has a little salt water washing through and around an open wound kept any of us from fishing!
:smash:
It is better to have fished and lost than never to have fished at all. "me"
Striper1 02-26-2002, 06:18 PM BM I hope you feel better soon.... but until then......
Your still my Hero:)
Now if you only did this in the summer the rest of us would have a chance at large
:laughs: :laughs: :laughs:
Hope your laughing with me not at me
mrpogie 02-26-2002, 07:17 PM Hang in there BM, heal up quick. With a big bandage on your finger you ought to be hittin all kinds of keys when you go to the computer. If you thought you spelled funny before.... ...mrpogie
Roccus 02-27-2002, 07:42 AM Dave,
Sorry to hear about your accident...power washers are damn scary items...I've seen guys use them to peel layers of gunk off brick or concrete & you have to be careful or they start peeling the bricks & cement instead of just the gunk...water under pressure is lethal stuff...be well soon...hope the long term damage isn't too bad.
Fisherwoman 02-27-2002, 09:06 AM BM, you hang in there, you still have plenty of time to heal before Mr pajama's show's up. Baitcaster and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Slipknot 02-27-2002, 09:09 AM Mrs. Bassmaster just gave an update on his finger. He will be going home this afternoon and does not need surgery. That is a relief, he was worried about that.
He was telling me he is bummed out and needs to get back to work. I told him to make sure the finger is ok first, take some days off.
Hopefully things will turn around for him now.
JohnR 02-27-2002, 09:53 AM I hope so too and I'm glad surgery won't be needed!
bassmaster 02-27-2002, 04:33 PM Thanks Bubba's..... Ouch:smash: :(

Fish_Eye 02-27-2002, 04:37 PM Is it too early to tell if there was any(more) brain damage?
