View Full Version : Weekend Plans?

Got Stripers

I'm close to the point, especially in light of the mild winter, to switching over to some freshwater fishing, but I'm in a rut. Plus the bigger stripers over the last couple weeks are making it tough for me to want to switch over, so I'm headed south again tomorrow.

I've got some invites out, but nobody has bit yet, so I've got room if anyones interested in getting a line wet. In fact if you can stay out of my way :), I can fit a couple guys/gals in the back of the boat. I'd ask that Fisherwomen and her sidekick, but I'm tired of asking and getting turned down. She just doesn't want to fish with me until she knows I'm back to the Pollack water she likes so much lol.

Hi GS,
I would love to take you up on your offer for tomorrow. The wife has a wedding shower, so I was going to try for some trout at the Blue Hills with my free time. Your offer for the striped ones sounds much better. Send me an e-mail and we can touch base. I am only in the office today until 5, no computer at home.

Thanks,
Topwater

Topwater, your profile is set up to not accept emails through this board, so call me in the office at 781 293-6222 and we can set something up for the am. If I'm not in, I might be out setting up the boat or pouring some baits, so leave your number and I will get back to you at home tonight. I plan to leave at 6:30 in the am, but will need to get you some directions to meet me.

I just got word that I will be taking my journeymans exam in April. I will be studying like mad every weekend till then.:( It's an oral exam in front of 3 people and I am nervous. I sure hope I pass, it will be a big jump on the seniority list and about an 8-10 percent raise.

I made it out with Got Stripers on Saturday morning. It looked to be a good morning with fairly light SW winds and an approaching front. We were on the water around 8:15 and GS had his first striper next to the boat around 8:30. Bob had a very productive morning (he said it was slow) with around 12 fish to my one (quick release, with jig).
The amount of fish we saw was incredible. They were biting very lightly. The schools seemed to be moving around the areas we were fishing quite a bit. The plastics Bob was using really out fished everyone around us. If anyone has a chance to fish with GS, I would highly recomend it. He is a super guy and I learned a lot.

Thank you again Bob. I had a great time.
