My season is just about done so I figured I throw it out there and see who's interested in doing a swap?

like a dozen people build 13 plugs each. all the same.

then you swap them. the left over plug set goes to johnr for the site.
lazy swap, is a swap, done lazily. basically what happened in last years was that it took the entire winter to get them all done.

I can do 16 plugs this winter no problem.

Bruce, I'm here. I was thinking we can do a SUPER swap or we can break it down to 2 groups. Whatever the group wants to do. I personally like swaps where you get two lures from the same builder but that would mean building 32 plugs each. Or we can just build 16 each.

I say we close it now for the 16 people you listed.

What's everyone's take on how many they want to build and do we break the group into two or leave it as ONE big swap.

I like the super swap idea.....since its early enough there's plenty of time. I think w/ the super swap 16 plugs per builder is plenty, need to have time to make my own stash :D....but thats just my take.....I'm open for anything

or if half the guys only want to do 1 plug each, then fine with that group, then the other group can do 2 plugs each :bl: if you can follow that or keep it straight. We would just need to know who is in which group so we'll have a count for the 2 plug people which should be somewhere around 24 total if the group splits down the middle.

But before we begin let me ramble a minute.....

I assume you want 2 styles (I hope). I have ran these huge swaps a few times and it does get a little frustrating because it's hard to keep a deadline in your head for 4 months. So lets make a promise here that we will all meet the deadline. :alien: We should also make a promise that we all aren't going to make needlefish at the last second. We've all seen each others work for the most part, what if we requested styles from each other? That may send Tagger into fits as he knows Darters will be his request. SO everyone builds 16 of what they want to build and 16 of the requested plug... is this a good idea?

I hope I have something in wood someone would want :confused: . I just epoxied my first plugs last weekend. I guess I will have to get a few photo's to see if I am worthy. I will do any amount, can always use 20 or 30 more plugs. I'm a glutton for punishment. Would they have to be all the same plug or material? Could they vary? Some SS some Alum. some Wood? Doesn't matter to me just curious. I am an amateur. P.

I like the idea of 2 different kinds of plugs, but requesting specific ones could get confusing. I think that should be the the call of the guy running this.

Paul, I wouldn't want to take someones spot. You'll like this, plug swaps are cool. If everyone wants to add another one I'll get in. If not that is fine. Don't drop out though as when the package arrives it is like a second christmas. :bl:

Tagger, your post is confusing, I think Tobias means we each make 2 style plugs, one of each goes to everybody. Not 32 builders and 32 plugs. I only said about some may not want to make 2 different plugs for each of us. I am willing though. TDF replied he wasn't sure he could do that many. If Tobias wants to keep it simple, it's up to him, he started this monster.

OK, here's the deal. The SUPER swap will have a limit of 20 builders. Right now we're at 17, we need 3 more. I'll end the signup for the swap at the end of the day tomorrow, Wednesday. If we don't reach 20 then, we'll just go with those that want to participate. Each builder will build 20 identical lures to swap. I want to make this as simple as possible. I will start another thread once we get 20 builders or however many at the end of the day Wednesday.

That's alota plugs being swaped. I have been slowly getting my things together to start making plugs that are a higher quality and believe I will done by X-mas. All I need is a lathe but if I'm A good boy :devil2: my wife will get me one. I hope we can start another swap for the new year. :jump:

I am still nervous that the paint will fall off my first plugs. Does the builder get to select the plug he wants to build or are you going to hand out assignments? P.

The tentative date of completion for all builders will be February 17, 2006. I will start another thread called "SUPER SWAP" where you will post what you are going to build. I want to make sure we don't get too many of the same type of lures like needles. So be creative.

For those that missed out on this swap. I will organize another smaller swap with only 6 participants as has been done in the past. I'll call it the "MINI SWAP" If anyone else wants to run it, you're more than welcome to. I don't mind doing it.
