I began subscribing to SWS through the mail right after we moved to our new home.......the first issue I recieved was the "November" issue......then about 3 weeks ago I recieved the "September" issue.....which I had already bought on the news stand about 6 weeks before I got this one in the mail!!! Then today I recieve the "new" issue I assume but no.....it reads that it is the "October" issue????? Anyone else having this problem???? Also the issue I got today has an article by Lou Tabory called "Fish On" about how to handle big fish when you hook them.....I either saw this article in another mag or it was printed a few issues ago in SWS???? Whats up with this???? Anyone else having these..."issues"? No pun intended!

Never seen it with SWS but I've had other mags send me old issues (ie leftovers) and limit future issues . . . in your example in SWS eyes you're a September to August subscriber . . . in your eyes your November to October . . . call or email and thank them for the old issues but you expect the Mag to run until October '06.

My issue with SWS is renewals . . . I too just started up again (after hearing good things about DeBenideto) and I get a renewal notice a month later . . . WTF - called and made sure they got the check "Yup" . . . then why the renewal "Don't want to risk an interuption in delivery" :rollem:

Ah...the back-issue magazine subscription scam. As far as I can tell, this is a fairly recent rip-off.
Not too long ago I subscribed to a magazine and got the current issue and 6 back issues all at the same time. The following month I got a card saying my subscription was almost ending and if I wanted to re-subscribe.
Magazines hook up with these distribution companies and this is how they operate.
Lesson learned: Don't ever buy a magazine subscription from a third party - call the magazine directly.

I am almost certian SWS sold my adress. I only get this mag because they were signing people up at the RISA show last spring. Anyway, the form said in big letters, YOUR ADRESS WILL REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL. low and behold, i am now getting tons of offshore fishign crap in the mail :yak:

SWS does has very little if anything at all that deals with the methods that most of use to catch fish. Got very sick of all the its time to reup on the subscription when I only renewed a couple of months before. It sucks bigtime.
