I have been reading here about people using water based paints in airbrushes. I have been using enamel and spray paints on my plugs but would be interested in what brands or names of water based paints people have used successfully. I have an airbrush and would like to give it a try. I am guessing people don't use crayola etc that my little boy plays with.
I have used some copper and silver acrylic craft paints with some luck on some freshwater hula poppers I have turned out. They look really nice with some clear coat.

The water based is appealing because of the fume issue. I usually only paint in the warm weather outside.

Thanks,
Eric

Like Tagger said, and in addition any acrylic craft paints will work as long as you thin them down propely. You have to experiment as you can dilute them too much or not enough causing either running your finish or clogging your brush. The createx etc., while more expensive are the right consistency to limit the problems.
