Here are some close ups but these aren't my creations , these are vintage Creek Chub lures from my collection . I WISH I created these lures and someday I hope to duplicate them , but an original Creek Chub lure had up to 14 coats of finish on them and thats why they still look great to this day .
Creek Chub was also the company that invented the metal lip and the technique of painting over mesh to create a scale pattern.
Creek Chub invented the Pikie, Surfster, Darter ..............
Gotta love um . :jump:

still not getting assembly ? are they pulling the plate in with the spoke and making the front loop last, turning the spoke back in on itself ? sounds froogan hard ..

capesams
11-23-2005, 10:03 PM
1. put the fin in the back of the plug.
2. insert the wire into the plug[no loop] take a turn or two into the threads.
3.mark the wire at the nose of the plug.
4. bend a loop in said wire just in front of the mark.
5.put lip into the plug..insert wire..thread it on till you bottom out.
6.pull lip forward to snug up on the wire..insert screws.

yes it's a big pain.

ps...helps to have a o in the lip instead of an oval.

Nice Dan, how long u been collecting.

I had a few pieces from my Grandfathers tackle box for years but the collection really got going in 1998 when I won a fishing tournament which paid $700.00 . I decided to spend the money buying old lures instead of using it on the electric bill etc . Now my prize money decorates my office .
