My old company was bought out by a British firm and now I'm getting the run around trying to collect my small pension check. This is the climate of today's big companies. It's all about the bottom line. FishHawk

I'm going through the same thing right now for my wife. I've got the number of the bank that is handling the funds, but they're dragging their feet wanting more info about the several previous owners of the company which I know nothing of. She hasn't worked there for almost 20 years. It's not a lot, but g@dd@mit, it's hers!
Keep after them FishHawk :gorez:

My father-in-law worked for a company for over 23 years and then they sold the business. You weren't vested in the pension until you were there for 25 years...WTF is that...

My Father-in-law ended up w/ squat.....not a friggin dime.

Sorry to hear that FishHawk. Stay on them like a wet blanket.
Companies were'nt always like that. I remember years ago we had a guy in the sales dept. who developed MS. The company kept him on for years with the agreement he would work on the days that he could, as he had been a loyal employee.
If you read management books at that time they would say promote a person to manager who you would want your own son or daughter to work for.
Unfortunately for everyone, take care of #1 and greed have taken over.

Ya know it was basically always like that up until the 1930's and later. Except that people were fighting to keep kids out of sweat shops and the right to have a holiday off from work never mind collect a pension check.
Now across the country we have an assault on the average American worker. Gas prices and heating oil out of site etc.etc.
Bush's corporate tax break for the rich and corporations, "ya got to be kidding me." It does not make it to the average worker.
And when the average worker earns it he can't collect it. Go get the b atages fishhawk with interest.
