Every year my girl and I do a themed Xmas tree.
Last year we did the sox with blue and red balls, cut out felt jerseys of the entire team, and a hat where the star would be.
This year she wants to do a fishing themed tree. I've got plenty of custom wood to hang, but am at a loss for a tree topper and something like garland.
I was thinking of getting some net and cutting it up.
Any other ideas anybody?
Thanks,
Rick

Wan't Christian carving a bass in Wood Shop about a year ago . . . I sense a "loaner" opportunity for the tree topper :wiggle:

Rick, how about doing some winter beach combing and stringing the skate and horshshoe crab egg cases, old cork, rope, pieces of fishnet, beach whistles, etc., you could use old mono to string it on to make a garland. For the topper, maybe be creative and get a piece or tin or aluminum, cut out the shape of a [bass] fish, bang some holes in it with a phillips head and affix it on your usual light-up star. The holes will let the light through and the shininess of the metal makes for a starlike presentation.
Looking at that tree , I think I see afew things I'd like for Christmas

Well you could get some Tube rigs and run them like garland :) As for a topper??? maybe put a light inside a shiner trap on top.
