anyone hear about a kid from franklin getting a big buck with a bow? i saw an old buddy from high school last night and he was telling me he got a 200 pound, 8 point buck and that it was the second biggest deer in MA history. i don't know anything about hunting, but i do know he is an avid sportsman so i believe him. just wondering if anyone heard the same. his name is Josh Donovan....

I have heard there were 2 large deer taken in the Taunton area this week by bow. I think the pics are up on Reedy's site.

Mike those are some sweet deer.
I went last sat morning with C-ratt. I was in my stand about 5 minutes and another guy came stalking by. About 10 minutes after that a forkhorn walked in. He started crossing from my left to my right which was great for me , cause I am a left hand shot and could have shot him while still sitting. However it sounded like fourth of july out there, we were hunting a pheasant stocked WMA, and he soon changed direction to pass me on the left. That meant I would have needed to stand and turn to shoot him. When he passed by me , I slowly stood up, and he swung his head around. I was frozen for what seemed like minutes, when he finally started to walk again. By the time I swung around the tree and got to full draw , there were too many trees to take a shot. I was very bummed cause we have seen no deer this year, and our usual place has little sign.Well after the deer made its way past me, it ended up going by C-Ratt's stand near the swamp, but he could not get a shot at it either. Oh well there still another month.
