View Full Version : Pink Pikie Needed
sportyguy33 12-08-2005, 12:03 AM I need a Pink Pikie to go along with some pink #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& Plugs
That I'm putting in a Shadow Box I'll be making for a really good Friend of mine for Christmas. I figure a plug display isn't right with out a Pikie.
Thanks

check your pm's
sportyguy,
you're pm's are full. are we still trading?
winchmaster 12-17-2005, 07:10 PM Since I already figured out which gurl its for, I'll make one with no trade needed. ( She still owes me lunch) ;) I wish you had asked earlier sporty with this rain it may make it a little tough to match what you already have. I do have a hundred in pink pearl. If one of those will do I can mail it Monday or you can come down and pick one. Hopefully I'll get a dry spell before Christmas and I can do the same pink scheme.

Sorry about the my mail box. I sent you the Fixter needle so yes the trade is still on. And Winch if you'dd like to donate a girlie plug to my project I'll add it to the shadow box with the #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& and Mac Plugs. She's going away to Ireland over Christmas & New Years So I still have a little time
Thanks

winchmaster 12-17-2005, 11:09 PM Sounds good sporty,
So since she won't be back till after Christmas what size will work the best? 3" 4" 5" 6" 8" pikie
Happy Holidays
thefishingfreak 12-17-2005, 11:34 PM :lurk:
sportyguy33 12-18-2005, 11:47 AM Chris
since the #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& Needles are 5" and the Pikie will be on top
4" would work nice.
Thanks a Million

winchmaster 12-19-2005, 01:35 PM Sporty I have pink pearls right now, If you want me to send one now for Doaf's present I can ship today. I will also turn one today if you would rather have a match for the others you have. Except I may have problems matching the flo pink look. I will do a mix and see how close I can get the pigment. The Tammy pink I have now is more gurlie pink.

The plugs collection is actually for The Fishing Goddess christmas
present. But if you could match the #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& color that would be
nice. I was thinking about usuing the little runt rainbow trout pikie I got from you at Bakers Beach but that one is Mine.
Thanks

sportyguy33 12-27-2005, 07:56 PM Winch (Chris)
Looks like I'll have to redo the Box Mafuti is Sending a Pink Jig to
add:cheers:
winchmaster 12-27-2005, 08:22 PM Good That you have to stall as this rain is stopping all work in the shed. The plug is primed and ready for paint but until I get some sunny days I am at a dead stop.
I cleaned the shop today and found all the drill bits I was missing.
Stay tuned.
sportyguy33 12-27-2005, 08:34 PM I figure since I have to redo the box I'll also add a Pink Bomber if I can find one. Even though I predict she'll never use them She can never use the excuse she doesn't have the right lures to go striper fishing with us.
sportyguy33 12-30-2005, 12:09 AM Heres the progress on the new Box. Now I have to go get a piece of glass so I can glue the Frame together. Chris The Pink Pikie will go where your yellow one is
libassboy 12-30-2005, 12:28 AM I love how Sport "snuck" those Gary2's in the picture......:hihi:
sportyguy33 12-30-2005, 12:46 AM LIbassboy
I was being Lazy So I didn't Crop the Pic. I was taking pictures of my
G2's prior to taking the pic of the Shadow Box.
libassboy 12-30-2005, 12:28 PM :kewl: well they look good regardless.......
sportyguy33 12-30-2005, 06:11 PM LIBassboy
Gary Plugs Are Killa or Pissa as you East coaster would say. Even though it's going to be a painful moment tossing G2's nice plugs
into the surf I'm looking forward to catching a West Coast Striper
on them next season Hopefully a Long Island Striper as well.
winchmaster 12-30-2005, 07:53 PM I'm still waiting for a dry spell to paint. Not sure how much rain your getting in Sacramento but it hasn't stopped here. I need a couple of calm days to paint and finish and it will be done. Hopefully Monday or Tuesday we get a weather break.
The shed has its limits as a shop. Rain being the one that stops me from wood turning and painting. I'm getting ichy and need a sawdust making day.
sportyguy33 12-30-2005, 10:46 PM Chris
No worry's me and The Goddess usually exchange our Christmas gifts closer to Feburary because her birthday is on Dec 31st and
She's always out of town at the end of the Year. I'd rather wait and use your pink pikie because You're a West Coatser and She's met
you.
Thanks
Joe
winchmaster 01-04-2006, 04:25 PM Tooo Pink?????
More white on top?
sportyguy33 01-04-2006, 07:43 PM if it's not to late a little more white on top would be awsome.
Thanks Winch.
winchmaster 01-04-2006, 10:40 PM I repearled the top right after I posted the picture. Thing is snizzle.
sportyguy33 02-08-2006, 12:54 AM Winchmaster
SA WEET!!! Thanks Dude :kewl:
winchmaster 02-08-2006, 10:38 PM My pink just isn't as hot as the other plugs. Next order from Dixe art I'll have to get some Flamengo to match the others better. Hope she like it.
thefishingfreak 02-09-2006, 12:01 AM grain :)
winchmaster 02-09-2006, 02:45 AM grain :)
That's because fish don't care about grain.
Actually Freak, I don't use that atypical wood that others use. I am using old growth redwood. Why Because Redwood is very bouyant and light. No the grain is not tight and no matter what you do it will show through. But what you look at in a purty lure is not what a fish will even worry about. Instead I get a plug that swims ten times better than an AYC plug. I can build them bigger and with less full body weight to keep them swimming and swerving better. Which means more action, which means more fish!
To me how well a plug swims is more important than how clean it is. Knowing your a car guy, I understand your feeling about grain or Orange peel. ;)

thefishingfreak 02-09-2006, 12:34 PM that's not a dig at you winch. however i do believe salty has the copywrights on grain:jester:
winchmaster 02-09-2006, 04:30 PM Didn't take it as a dig Fishingfreak. I was just explaining why the grain shows more tan on an AYC plug. If you get your chance to try some Eastern red cedar you get the same effects. Light bouyant plug with grain that shows. With redwood my one fear is the red organic material that makes redwood red. (I think its something like tunic acid or something close) can bleed. I used the wood last year with no problems of it staining red streaks. But you never know. If it does happen then I will be on a hunt for another type of wood that I can get here. Western red cedar is also very bouyant and grainy but it also has problems giving a smooth finish sand. You get lots of checks and nooks with it.
Anyway the redwood works well, if you ever would like to play with a few pieces I can send you some.
