PNG.. that's how they used to get them to Monomoy, ferry them across from Chatham, ferry ya back when you were done. Nice little side business for a few of the locals way back when.
"Feelgooders" would pass out if anybody tried to run a little side business like that today.. 'course you don't see many Oyster Scows today either :hihi:

The "originals" are way too cool. I mean, a couple with a kid or two spending a few days on the outer beach living out of a station wagon. No "wet bath-dry bath" discussion there. A coleman and some canned goods to heat up. Oops, someone forgot the can opener-stick a knife into a can to open and drink. Will the "Kid" repeat another .400 season, and no welfare state----ok, I'm going in the wrong direction now......

That is an understatement:conf: Too bad the pictures of the lightning didn't come out. What a wicked storm. :wavey:

What a great picture to have.
Thanks, I have some other great ones around, but not scanned. However, nothing beats the reel to reel movies of them with some friends on the beaches of the outer banks in the late 50's. My grandfather is still going strong at 89 and fished Hatteras in November, although not with the same interest or fervor as in the past :ss:
