Ater looking at Capesams laminated plugs I wanted to try my own. These are striper pikies in walnut and maple. They look like christmas cookie

How does one enroll in your Master Plug building Courses? Do you offer any Insternet based courses for those of us who live on the other side of the country? :cputin:

Thanks Guys,
I'm afraid most of them won't see water. I gave five of them to my brothers and sisters and nephew as gifts. None who fish!
After working in so much redwood it was a pleasure to turn hardwoods. I had originally thought about doing them with the walnut on the sides but the plug engineer in me thought they would swim with better balance if the woods were horizontal.
No weights were added.
The toughest part was getting the plug as close as posible to the dead center on the lathe. Fraction off and the walnut sides would finish uneven. Doing the head cut was also problematic. The cut goes through the maple and getting a straight edge of the walnut against the maple was harder than I thought.
So if yo get a chance to try some wood laminating try it. It was pretty fun, and the trouble I ran into taught me much about getting clean cuts and lines for all my wood.

Moores lips?

Muskie shop Lips. Jigman turned me onto them, They have the reenforced lips just like the original pikies. They have that size and a size bigger.
