you type in an artist or a song you like. It then creates a radio station specifically tuned to that genre or type of music, you can then add artists or songs etc. Good way to learn about new groups etc. :buds:

i think i prefer the ease of use of shoutcast and boom box recorder
which are entirely free....with absolutely no advertising .
But it's nice to have choices when you can't find what your
wanting to listen too. i have hundreds of songs on my PC all downloaded free and recorded with boom box...and because it was
streaming audio theres no legality issues... thankyou though.:tm:

Thanks for the tip. One back at ya.....this site has a ton of concerts you can stream. Lots of jam band stuff like the Dead and Black Crowes, but there's probably something for most tastes...from the Clash to Cash. http://tela.sugarmegs.org/_asxtela/

what media player are you using to stream that...?

i have winamp (didnt try it yet)and windows media player wont play the stream...

boombox lets you record the stream... but not play it.

I save the asx files to my desktop and then open them with media player. I seem to remember seeing instructions on downloading and burning the shows on the Black Crowes message board (www.amorica.org) but am not entirely sure. I'll try to look if work eases up.

ps. if you like the Crowes, the 12/30/05 show at lupos in Providence was freakin historic, and the recording is purty good.
