Raven 01-03-2006, 09:14 PM i think you need some professional help and i'm going to refer you to a great analyst .......the nice thing about him is that you can pay the hourly fee in plugs his name is.... Doctor Raven seek a free consultation :soon: gone fishin 01-03-2006, 09:16 PM And people thought bassmaster had a stash!!!!!!! WOW..  winchmaster 01-03-2006, 11:08 PM Just get a bigger basement Flap Flaptail 01-04-2006, 06:17 AM i think you need some professional help and i'm going to refer you to a great analyst .......the nice thing about him is that you can pay the hourly fee in plugs his name is.... Doctor Raven seek a free consultation :soon: You know Doctor Raven, I have had this problem since I was a little kid. I think it may be a phobia. Maybe it's called Noplugaphobia. That is not having enough of certain ones if they stop making them. What do you think. I need help. I buy them, many of them because I don't want to run out. After all a good plug is hard to find and once found you don't want to run out. Example: I have 37 3-1/2 oz. Gibbs Polaris plugs. I was once a canal rat from hell and well........ugh. Help me! Raven 01-04-2006, 06:59 AM that when you were a little tyke you wanted to play with a plug and it was quickly snatched away from you so you wouldnt hurt yourself and you have never fully recovered from that trauma. one method is to create a lifesize plug pillow to curl up with on the couch to use as a security blanket and allay that fear of loss that your trying to compensate for.... there are others on this board that needem too. BM is a fine example as is Salty Bugger... it's either that or we'd have to try regression hypnotherapy!! ....another method is to wear a trench coat lined with plugs and flash them at hooters girls for that surprised reaction followed by a smile.that always helps! and if that doesn't work we may have to make up a batch of plug pastries so you can eat them until your ready to barf and thus cure your insatiable appetite once and for all ,effectively purging your system of the inescapable need to gather more and more and more.... its similar to the guy who fills up his house with stacks and stacks of newspapers until finally there's no where to sit anymore because he can't stand to GIVE even one away. then theres the plug wallpaper method. We will have to explore this real deep seated phobia and learn where it originated from in order to correct it... call my secretary and make an appointment. i am usually booked solid but from what i've seen you have an extreme case of plugosis that needs to be addressed before you end up in the plug ward at the funny farm. :hihi: Act quickly before you go over the saltwater edge. :bo: vineyardblues 01-04-2006, 08:11 AM "I spy with my little eye", a fishing lure! Nice Steve VB Arne P 01-04-2006, 10:48 AM I gotta show the wife this pic .. She'll think I'm ok .. That was my first thought exactly! :jump1: spence 01-04-2006, 11:10 AM You could use some pink danny's. It's obscene really  :hihi: -spence Flaptail 01-04-2006, 11:19 AM You could use some pink danny's. It's obscene really  :hihi: -spence How many Pink Danny's do you want? Actually it's not obscene, it's a collection of Striped Bass fishing history. When I croak I told my wife to shut that corner of the cellar up for 25 years or so and forget it's there. Then open it up to plug collectors, she will get rich and they will think they found the plug nutz version of King Tut's tomb. spence 01-04-2006, 11:27 AM Then open it up to plug collectors, she will get rich and they will think they found the plug nutz version of King Tut's tomb. Wern't the tombs looted before they were formally "discovered" :) BTW, I meant obscene in a jealous sort of way ;) -spence Flaptail 01-04-2006, 11:39 AM Not 'Ol Tutankhamen's! He slipped by. And I know what you meant no problem there! I have been collecting the things since I was 8, that's forty two years ago. Flap you have a truely magnificent obsession. if i counted all the lures i owned they wouldn't amount to half of yours and i've been buying lures everywhere i've gone for the last 20 years. you never know what a fish might never have seen before and think would be good to eat. congrats!! RI Popper 01-05-2006, 09:38 PM Flaptail, you still have room for more ;) I could still make out a little bit of peg board behind one of those pictures. The collection in the shadow boxes was pretty cool too. He went top shelf all the way around, his vehicle, equipment, plugs and his drive. Its a shame he gave it up. I hope he writes a book. winchmaster 01-09-2006, 01:42 PM Well if you got in free you must know "The shadow" Backbeach Jake 01-09-2006, 02:48 PM The wife saw your plugs and asked if we're ALL like that....well, yeah, I guess we are. Flaptail 01-09-2006, 02:59 PM Just imagine Fred, there are a whole lot of cellars out there, undiscovered, just like mine or worse. Think of all the old timers who have "gone down the beach in the sky". I just got a line on one through a family friend that I have been asked to look at and "see what I could use". There is a God!!!! Backbeach Jake 01-09-2006, 03:54 PM Just imagine Fred, there are a whole lot of cellars out there, undiscovered, just like mine or worse. There is a God!!!! Wow! that could turn out REAL good. I've often wondered what was in all those old sheds and barns scattered about the Cape. About 5 years ago I just missed an old Harnell rod in perfect condition at a Church sale in Truro. :wall: 20 bucks! I coulda cried. Good luck! and happy hunting!! capesams 01-09-2006, 04:04 PM I picked up a few harnell's in a pile in front of a house..sign said free... That's scary. I remember when I first moved to VT, 35 years ago. Waiting on the side of the road for someone when a truck cuts a car off, the car stops, the guy jumps out of the truck and yells at the woman "I don't care if you leave, but you ain't takin my deer rifle":eyes: Backbeach Jake 01-09-2006, 04:36 PM   How much time are they servin'? gone fishin 01-09-2006, 11:45 PM Flap - with that stash I would get the shakes just waiting for the fish to come back. :rotf3: :rotf3: Flaptail 01-10-2006, 10:41 AM I picked up a few harnell's in a pile in front of a house..sign said free... Flap put it in your hand and tell old Gibbs storys.. jeffthechef 12-20-2009, 06:11 PM Flap had loads of plugs, but it was his knowledge about them, the stories behind them, and his enthusiasm for them that made it all special....really special. seeing those plugs and that thread made me think of this past february. i know you guys were really close to him and i really didn't know him. but if you allow me, you could appreciate this. i attended my first plugfest last year (with the idea maybe i would take up the hobby)and wandered over to a wall and table near the corner of the room where a tall, friendly guy had a LOT of plugs on display. i didn't want to bother him with questions and stuff, but i didn't have to. without a prompt he started showing me eye popping stuff, the first Gibbs, the story on how he got it, where it would end up. a lot of his creations and others. he talked, i listened. the guy was straight up, a solid guy. that day i left knowing whatever i would ever make would never look like anything i saw that day, but the spark was there. Vogt 12-20-2009, 07:53 PM good stuff Jeff. Striperhound 12-22-2009, 02:21 PM based on the date on the photo 1/06 there are a few more added to the collection over the last 3 years  stripermaineiac 12-23-2009, 10:09 PM Flaptail It's nice to see that I'm not alone LOL.
