Got a Saltiga-Z 4500 for Christmas and was thinking of spooling it with #50 Stren superbraid. Using VS for the past 10 years I've been use to and very happy with Fireline. Tried PowerPro and didn't like it on the VS. So for those that have this reel let me know what has been working best for you. Getting use to a bail again should be interesting.
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Bern

Bern-I have the 6000z. used 50 lb power pro at the canal for jigging.no problems here.
Bern -
I've been using 40LB Power Pro and 50Lb Power Pro on my Saltiga's for 2 years and have had zero problems.
Good luck.

I switch from manual bail reels to the Saltiga and it has been no sweat. Just give it a minute or two to remember to push the bail down manually. On my 4500 I use 40lb PP and it has worked great. Just don't overfill. :hee:

I fished 50 lb. power rpo on a 4500 blast and it worked beautifully this past year.

thanks for the replies everyone. The reel seems very well built and powerful. The oversized drilled aluminum knob is very comfortable (custom champaign color knob and spool). Only time will tell how well it takes a dunkin and sand. Probably going to go with the stealth or stren.

I had Stren on mine all last season, 50#, as it is a little thinner than Stealth. Due to the low line capacity, I wanted a thinner diameter line on there. It worked out great with that line.
Congrats on the new reel Bern.U musta been a good boy this yr.
