In XP Pro; how come when I try to add/remove programs it only shows a vary partial list of what is installed? Is there any easy way to fix this? online help had me go into the sysco.inf file, but that looked like components not programs :bsod:

Some Yahoo type messenger thing, I think it installed itself when I was trying to get onto a Yahoo-message list thing.
Basically almost no programs show up; and date last used doesnt extend past 2 April 05; I'd just like some ability to add/remove. Tried the other accounts, same thing....

Did you check the box at the top that says Show Updates?

if you know what date it was installed....
thats the way to locate it....
in search mode
find all files and folders named *.* (wildcard)
on date _ _ or for example between 1-1-06 and 1-5-06 and see what pops...up
or look for anything :messenger or yahoo words...
then do it manually...for the delete...
i rename stuff shat so it becomes non functional
then i can delete all the shat :)

So... FYI
Turns out they did show up, but something quirky in Windows shows a huge white space in the list... scroll Waaaaay down and boom, programs appear... became an issue when I needed to reinstall some updated side-scan software
