Where do you guys get the wood for making plugs?

I think I am going to invest in a lathe and play around with some stuff..

Dude, your life will never again be normal.....

I am lucky to be able to get scraps from a cabinet shop. Great source if you can find one. Best plugs I ever made came from black birch firewood that I split in quarters, let dry for three weeks about 2 feet from my wood stove. I cut the checked ends off and turned up some nice plugs. They ain't purty, but they work...

lurch, you can get wetern red cedar from any cedar fence supplier.

there is a guy in Lunenburg ( the woodery ) that stocks AYC
