UserRemoved1 01-07-2006, 05:21 AM Michael a cylinder misfiring could be alot of stuff, clogged/bad injector, bad/shorting plug wire, distributor, head gasket leaking, intake gasket leaking. I'd get it checked out though without running it that doesn't sound good... redneck24 01-07-2006, 05:22 AM what type of vehicle? what year? if it is coil over plug you probably need a pack and plug. judging by your business i would say you probably have a ford/ lincoln with a 4.6, if thats the case, definately pack and plug. water gets into the hole and shorts out the coil packs. fishaholic18 01-07-2006, 05:23 AM Most likely it is the spark plug. Also could be the ignition wire or injector firing problem. Other less possibilities are burnt valve, rings, vacuum leaks, etc. Pull #8 plug and take a look at it's condition. Hopefully, and most likely,it's just a bad plug. The cond. of the plug will tell you alot. Start there. Also look at the connections on each end of the plug wire, may be corroded. mrmacey 01-07-2006, 07:13 AM Just bought it they cleaned the engine so it really sounds like a short in the coil pack this lady was really honest about everything over the phone then showed me all paper work to back her up it was just b#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g she said it never did that the guy who cleaned the engine said it was probably water in it somewhere I figured something electronic, fishaholic18 01-07-2006, 07:21 AM Sound like it's most likely #8 plug wire. BigFish 01-07-2006, 07:57 AM Replace the plugs and wires...bet the problem goes away!:D redcrbbr 01-07-2006, 08:04 AM what type of vehicle? what year? if it is coil over plug you probably need a pack and plug. judging by your business i would say you probably have a ford/ lincoln with a 4.6, if thats the case, definately pack and plug. water gets into the hole and shorts out the coil packs. That is what i would say also. if your check engine light came on there should be a stored or active code which would tell you specificaly if it is the #8 coil pack. mrmacey 01-07-2006, 08:36 AM Just dropped it off will let you know when I get it back mrmacey 01-08-2006, 02:07 AM 70,000 mile never had a tune up we did it runs fine now.
