View Full Version : time to start thinking about 4 leg yet???? redcrbbr 03-17-2002, 12:00 PM i know i am anxious, but when did we start the first leg last year? is it time to begin thinking about dates yet??? TheSpecialist 03-17-2002, 12:44 PM I think we should start to think about it. People are planning vacations now, and it would be nice to finish the puzzle called summer. GBOUTDOORS 03-17-2002, 03:37 PM I am busy June 15th and 16th:D anyone else???;) Bobbike 03-17-2002, 03:55 PM Busy June 15th thru June 23rd, 2002 Daughter is getting Married Thought she would never do it LOL Bob B. Clammer 03-17-2002, 05:30 PM I hope I/m busy ,June 15,16////////////////////////:happy:   Saltheart 03-17-2002, 09:13 PM Yes . its time to start thinking about it. Suggestions? Scotch Bonnet 03-17-2002, 09:55 PM What is the 4 leg? Jenn 03-18-2002, 12:37 AM it is a little "tourney" set up for those on the site.....done in four legs..... but I will warn you when John picks a time and place we dont catch fish!! LOL luv ya John! had to get that in !!!!;) ;) ;) fishsmith 03-18-2002, 07:49 AM What are the rules? Can you use live bait? Are Stripers always the targeted fish? Is there a boat division/shore division? Will someone tow me in if my motor dies, then can I fish fish from shore until the tourney is over? jenty 03-18-2002, 09:50 AM The only weekend I might have a conflict is the last in June....I'm closing on a house. I'm looking forward to this and seeing all you guys/gals again. johnny JohnR 03-18-2002, 10:10 AM Saltheart and I are going to make plans on this very soon and work out the details - because of scheduling for June, we might need to have the Rhody leg either June 8 or June 22.... Here is a link to last years rules to give an idea on how we ran the Tourney: http://www.striped-bass.com/sbtourney.shtml We did not have a boat division but may have one this year - too early to tell.... Looking forward to another fun year with the Tourney :D Speaking of Tourney Prizes- CRatt! - I talked to JHabs Saturday, he'll have the prize plugs you won at the show if you want to pick them up there.... STEVE IN MASS 03-18-2002, 10:55 AM Well....here's one vote for June 8. June 22 I'm Hatteras bound. :) Saltheart 03-18-2002, 10:55 AM Any suggestions? Canalratt1 03-18-2002, 12:09 PM Sounds good John, is Don going to be there? If not I probably won't make it to Rhody for a while. Unfortunatly the end of June (21st) I will only have one leg so I will be out of action for a week or so. The trick with the 4-legs is ask where John is fishing then go in the opposite direction!;) Fishpart 03-18-2002, 01:13 PM How about 8 Jun in Rhody, maybe 13Jul in Mass, 14 Sep in Mass and 5 Oct in Rhody? I've made out OK fishing with John on a few occasions :) and not so good on a couple of others........but a bad night of fishing is still better than a good night of TV. Saltheart 03-18-2002, 01:21 PM I've been fishing with John and caught fish. I think Canalratt must be the bad luck charm. :) redcrbbr 03-18-2002, 01:25 PM those dates work for me... john just needs a little co-operation from mother nature..who woulda guessed there would be a hurricane 300 miles away. uh.. atleast it was 300 miles away;) JohnR 03-18-2002, 01:51 PM Couple things: I like the dates that Fishpart proposes for June and July. They certainly offer the best moon/tides available that are left. It's a little early I think for the fall as there may be some conflicts with other tourneys and the DERBY ;) ... Can't forget the derby... As far as the weather, yep - hurricane  C-Ratt - I misspoke compounded by a brain faht, I thought you were the winner of the plugs but you won the rod instead, again - just see Don at Weekapag for that... Schoolie Monster - you won the plugs, therefore I recommend you get your butt to the MSBA show this year and see Johnny for your assortment... No blowing it off as in years past... BTW - Give me a holler at work. And also to clear the air here ;) while I get abused by a few of you - several people have caught there biggest fish of the year fishing with me and one has gotten their biggest fish ever fishing with me :D :D - Just remember that ;) Biggest fish of season with Good 'Ole me: Saltheart Schoolie Monster (twice) RedCrabber Bigest fish: Fishpart redcrbbr 03-18-2002, 01:58 PM yep.. thats right john.. and i'd still fish anywhere with you.. anytime... chris L 03-18-2002, 02:24 PM Im going to be pretty much out of money buy the time the trneys strt ( see I cant even buy a vowel ). I know I wont be on the mainland on June 15/16 . My on-call list hasnt come out for those months ( may thru sept ) yet . Any days that get set up is fine with me and Ill make as many of them as I can ! I feel naked...................oh I am ! no no no I meant I feel naked with out my tide and current chart ! this weekend cant get here fast enough . JohnR 03-18-2002, 02:28 PM Thanks Red, same here... I'm tossing a little humored jab at my would be detractors :D ;) :p I'm really having fun with this  schoolie monster 03-18-2002, 04:30 PM Umm, actually, that one on Nantucket... technically you were off getting a coffee ;) ... still one of my favorite stories. I didn't blow off the MSBA show last year. That was the weekend of my trip to Florida. Umm, I moved my trip to florida back 2 weeks just so I could come to the show this year... I'll definitely be there this weekend. Yikes, gotta go get the kid... John, I'll give you a call. I got a cryptic message from my babysitter yesterday... did you call? She said John, but for Karen about a book or something. She was a bit unsure. Got Stripers 03-18-2002, 06:14 PM I don't know whether I'm coming or going, so I'm not even going to try to schedule anything. If I can make any of the t's I definately will, they were a good social event, can't say the same about catching :). Maybe this year it will be payback and the fishing will be good on the dates we pick. What about a boating tournament? Wev'e got a few of them on the board and I know Schoolies just itching to put his new toy in the water. Maybe boater and guest(s), largest released wins the prize. JohnR 03-18-2002, 06:18 PM GS - I like that- but in order to keep things honest, we'll need to find, uhhh - Neutral Ground ;) Canalratt1 03-19-2002, 12:24 PM :D vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
