I may need to get a 28 foot boat from Ct. to Weymouth. AIt has a beam of 10' 4" and weighs 9000#'s. Does anyone have a trailer I could rent/borrow fcr the trip? Any body have any sugestions?

Have you tried getting prices from a boat hauling co.
If you figure out the cost of driving down there and back in fuel, tolls ect..... Plus the fact if something were to go wrong like an accident !!!

I know Dave down there who does the moorings. Any conection. Would a hauling company be automaticaly insured?

Not to mention that most boats that size require a special permit to tow.

Don't even waste your time trying to borrow or loan someone elses trailer. Not knowing the condition etc. It is not worth it and in the long run you won't save a dime dealing with the aggravation it something goes amiss.

All the good "professional" boat haulers will have up to date ins. Simms Brothers in Marshfield one of the best I've seen. Great rigs, they design and build them themselves, from what I understand they're a couple of MIT grads etc.

I borrowed a trailer once to launch my boat. You know to try to save $150. What a dissater....flat tire, messed up winch. 6 hours later the boat was in the water. For $150 it could have been in in 15 minutes.

They are going to charge you both ways. With some of the upcoming boats shows it may be possible to find a company in Conn. doing the boston show that is making multiple trips to spplit the fare if he was coming back up MT after the show.

twin small blocks gunna suck up 130 gallon tank pretty quick. plus "new to you boat".

Guys run new to you boats back and forth to FL all the time. If you haven't had it checked out mechanically already, you're a fool for buying it.

I will be bringing a 28' Fortier home to Matt. in the spring from Ct. we will be running up the coast in the water not on the ground. As mako siad if you bought the boat it should have been checked out and in good running order. That is if you did not buy a project boat. We will be coming up in April if you wish to tag along you are welcome.
