spence 01-30-2006, 02:20 PM Probably a stun gun and ninja costume.

Yup thats deadly however from the surf?? You all Know I would go with an eel...hey I figured you could have some fun with this...Eben the C4 Explosive is not an option:shocked:
Flaptail 01-30-2006, 02:51 PM YO YO a pogie
Tough to do from the beach Mike. If eels aren't on the endangered list by then, it would have to be a live eel. I used to do the Osterville Anglers Club education series and had for years ( I used to do nothing but Saltwater Flyfish, don't hate me) run seminar series for eight weeks each year starting in January till April and when someone would ask me what was the best way to catch a big bass (meaning on a flyrod) I would tell them to put the flyrod away, get a ten foot conventional and some nice big lively sled dog eels!!!!!:hihi:
nightfighter 01-30-2006, 02:51 PM Blurple pencil or needle into the surf of Cutty's old bass stands........

good , I can't wait.....I love fishing eels...and heard you are the king...looking forward to hearing you speak at the upcoming shows.
Saltheart 01-30-2006, 04:21 PM If they were around , i would use a big trebble to simple snag a pogie and let it struggle around out there. If there were no sign of the bait fish , I would use the eel....rigged not live.
cheferson 01-30-2006, 04:22 PM ...rigged not live.
Why rigged, over live??
fishaholic18 01-30-2006, 04:23 PM I would use a 3# lobster and an 8/0 treble with 200 # mono.
It is a million $$$ ya know....:rotf3:
Saltheart 01-30-2006, 04:27 PM I can work the rigged eel as well as a live one. I can cast it further to cover more area , and I have two hooks when that bass comes near it.
mink fetus soaked in baby oil :rotfl:
Slipknot 01-30-2006, 04:34 PM SLUGGO
my first choice = eelskin jig as long as I get to choose the hour
second choice live eel
third live herring or pogie
ThrowingTimber 01-30-2006, 04:37 PM A big Honkin Shad with a 7/0 treble hangin off his face and a stinger hook 8/0 held in place on his tail w/ a rubber band, with the point slightly pokin thru his tail, to leave a steady drip, drip, drip of yumminess (assuming it was'nt pounced on within 15 minutes), when it died I'd yo yo that mf'er, but I'd add a few packing peanuts to get a sort of weird neutral bouyancy.. then when it started for fall to pieces, I'd dice it up, and use 2 rods in current with thill floats, at alternating depths and distances, I'd work the chunks back and forth, one drifting out one comin in slow, I'd toss lil itsy bitsy pieces of the lil heathen, in its own slick.... :vamp:
ThrowingTimber 01-30-2006, 04:38 PM that'd be too much work, gimme an eel. :rtfm:
A ferry ticket to the the Block and a bucket of live eels.
ThrowingTimber 01-30-2006, 04:46 PM actually can an admin delete my posts, I dont fish for money :hidin:

Skitterpop 01-30-2006, 05:24 PM A black 15" two hook rigged Ultimus eel worked slowly along or very near the bottom on the outflow of a certain estuary at night around a new moon

Sea Dangles 01-30-2006, 05:57 PM Dragging sand eels at Race Point at a certain time of year will outfish ANY method.Day or night the bass are keyed in on these little critters and you can have as many snakes as you want, your best chance for large would be the sand eel.
allright. 8 ounces of C-4 moulded into a swimshad on the end of a wire line set up.. when you feel the strike, you hit the spool with a set of jumper cables. make sure your wearing rubber bottomed shoes :skulz: :smokin:
seabass 01-30-2006, 06:41 PM I need more information for my Phantom Beach matrix!
quick decision 01-30-2006, 08:13 PM I would live line a pogey with no weight.

Maybe, but thats the cape......Pound for pound area for area , spot to spot, and not just a certain time of the year but anytime, I will take a live eel
AT Grimaldi 01-30-2006, 11:07 PM OK...OK....OK I'll vote for the eel. But I have a question for #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& - how do you carry them walking the beach?
I have used them from the bike on the canal and in the boat - both of which afforded my the double pickle bucket set up with ice on em. Any ideas?
I can't wait for MSBA to see your talk. BTW, it was good to see you tonight, #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&. :)
eelman 01-31-2006, 07:25 AM We use the small shiner buckets, the ones you can by for $2.99 and drill holes in the bottom, run a band of electrical tape around the cover as insurance. You can also use a small section of clothes line rope and wear it over your shoulder. Where we fish we are not wading much and just set it down behind us and every now and then dunk the whole thing in the water and the eels stay fine just do not forget the drain holes!I have used just about everthing and these little buckets are great, old mayonasise jars works well also.
Sometimes I use a mesh divers bag tied off to my wader belt however, its difficult to change baits while in the water there so slippery you can not get hold of them so, I keep two pot scrubber pads tucked away in my waders to grab the eels and usually walk out of the surf to change baits...........
fishaholic18 01-31-2006, 07:37 AM I use a softsided cooler to carry mine, .10 at a yardsale.
shadow 01-31-2006, 09:09 AM old large plastic mayo jar .:claps: oh ya an eel sprayed w/ bunker oil.

The Iceman 6 01-31-2006, 09:37 AM EEL, medium size and lively...
A yellow back/red head 3 1/2 inch Rebel fitted with 4/0 trebles.
;)

I use the mesh bag when wading and what I do is grab an eel with the mesh and poke the eels head out of the top, slide the hook and pull the eel out....works great for me!
The only problem is that when wading the bag spins around and you have to spin it back to get the bag opened.
As for the 1M fish I would use a live pogie with the half of the fins cliped off.
chief10 01-31-2006, 01:17 PM live eel.
RIROCKHOUND 01-31-2006, 01:57 PM A yellow back/red head 3 1/2 inch Rebel fitted with 4/0 trebles.
;)
Does that actually still swim?
And I'd use an eel...
actually for 1Million.. I'd swim to a waiting boat.. drag a tube and worm, then swim back in w/ the fish.....
but then again, I dont fish for money :D
Diggin Jiggin 01-31-2006, 05:23 PM Only 2 places I fish am I likely to hit a 40. I'd use a red and black sluggo on a 4 or 5oz lead if I'm at one, or a black or yellow over pearl Danny if I'm at the other ,depends on how dark it is...
BasicPatrick 01-31-2006, 07:32 PM Live Adult Bunker standing on ethe edge of an outflow on top of Jetty or Breetchway
Fish On 01-31-2006, 07:59 PM Snake! What do you say Tony O.?
Krispy 01-31-2006, 09:55 PM Wow, really surprised how many people think an eel will take bigger bass over live bait fish :fishslap:
AT Grimaldi 01-31-2006, 10:24 PM #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& - mucho gracias. sounds like we do similar deals. I have seen those mesh bags by aquaskin and liked their portability, but wasn't sure if anyone used them or not. seems like I would get covered in eel slime and they would get the living $%it kicked out of em too.
