Its July 1st and you have a new moon, Your offered 1$Million dollars If you can land a fish over 30lbs you can only fish from the surf and you have Only one hour in which to try and make it happen. You have to activley fish and not drown a chunk......Question is?? What method would you use??:smokin:

We can choose the spot correct. Because certain techinques are better at certain spots. That said.

I would fish an eel real slow. I don't know a better way to catch a cow:smokin:

Probably a stun gun and ninja costume.

That way when McKenna woke up, he wouldn't know what hit him or what happened to the fish :rtfm: :rotf3:

Tough to do from the beach Mike. If eels aren't on the endangered list by then, it would have to be a live eel. I used to do the Osterville Anglers Club education series and had for years ( I used to do nothing but Saltwater Flyfish, don't hate me) run seminar series for eight weeks each year starting in January till April and when someone would ask me what was the best way to catch a big bass (meaning on a flyrod) I would tell them to put the flyrod away, get a ten foot conventional and some nice big lively sled dog eels!!!!!:hihi:

If they were around , i would use a big trebble to simple snag a pogie and let it struggle around out there. If there were no sign of the bait fish , I would use the eel....rigged not live.

I can work the rigged eel as well as a live one. I can cast it further to cover more area , and I have two hooks when that bass comes near it.

A big Honkin Shad with a 7/0 treble hangin off his face and a stinger hook 8/0 held in place on his tail w/ a rubber band, with the point slightly pokin thru his tail, to leave a steady drip, drip, drip of yumminess (assuming it was'nt pounced on within 15 minutes), when it died I'd yo yo that mf'er, but I'd add a few packing peanuts to get a sort of weird neutral bouyancy.. then when it started for fall to pieces, I'd dice it up, and use 2 rods in current with thill floats, at alternating depths and distances, I'd work the chunks back and forth, one drifting out one comin in slow, I'd toss lil itsy bitsy pieces of the lil heathen, in its own slick.... :vamp:

Dragging sand eels at Race Point at a certain time of year will outfish ANY method.Day or night the bass are keyed in on these little critters and you can have as many snakes as you want, your best chance for large would be the sand eel.

allright. 8 ounces of C-4 moulded into a swimshad on the end of a wire line set up.. when you feel the strike, you hit the spool with a set of jumper cables. make sure your wearing rubber bottomed shoes :skulz: :smokin:

Maybe, but thats the cape......Pound for pound area for area , spot to spot, and not just a certain time of the year but anytime, I will take a live eel

OK...OK....OK I'll vote for the eel. But I have a question for #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& - how do you carry them walking the beach?

I have used them from the bike on the canal and in the boat - both of which afforded my the double pickle bucket set up with ice on em. Any ideas?

I can't wait for MSBA to see your talk. BTW, it was good to see you tonight, #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&. :)

We use the small shiner buckets, the ones you can by for $2.99 and drill holes in the bottom, run a band of electrical tape around the cover as insurance. You can also use a small section of clothes line rope and wear it over your shoulder. Where we fish we are not wading much and just set it down behind us and every now and then dunk the whole thing in the water and the eels stay fine just do not forget the drain holes!I have used just about everthing and these little buckets are great, old mayonasise jars works well also.

Sometimes I use a mesh divers bag tied off to my wader belt however, its difficult to change baits while in the water there so slippery you can not get hold of them so, I keep two pot scrubber pads tucked away in my waders to grab the eels and usually walk out of the surf to change baits...........

I use the mesh bag when wading and what I do is grab an eel with the mesh and poke the eels head out of the top, slide the hook and pull the eel out....works great for me!

The only problem is that when wading the bag spins around and you have to spin it back to get the bag opened.

As for the 1M fish I would use a live pogie with the half of the fins cliped off.

Only 2 places I fish am I likely to hit a 40. I'd use a red and black sluggo on a 4 or 5oz lead if I'm at one, or a black or yellow over pearl Danny if I'm at the other ,depends on how dark it is...

#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& - mucho gracias. sounds like we do similar deals. I have seen those mesh bags by aquaskin and liked their portability, but wasn't sure if anyone used them or not. seems like I would get covered in eel slime and they would get the living $%it kicked out of em too.
