Be very cautious about the latest update. You MUST have the entire old program (6.3) COMPLETELY removed from your system. If you try to update the VDFs as usual the updater will try update to the latest version of the program(7.0) and this is bad.I spent five hours making things right.

Remove the entire AV program before installing the newer version.Don't just uninstall,REMOVE MANUALLY every file associated with it.Then download the full program.

This is a great free AV just....DO NOT UPDATE!!!

Completely remove your current version, download and install the latest version.

I use both.

I'll never pay for what can be had for free. You just gotta be cautious.

I had problems with CCleaner. That's one I stay away from.It often affected Java and would also delete needed registry files.

Update on the whole situation.

Don't upgrade at all.Version 7 has problems. One of which is making your system run S-L-O-W!

Almost a minute in some cases just to close a window! At certain points it uses every single bit of your system resources.

Gonna try some things and will report back.

Ok folks if you've never used it before than just download and install and you'll be fine.

If you're upgrading...make sure you completely uninstall the previous version and I mean completely.Next click Start then Run then enter "regedit"(without quotes).

Once in registry editor remove anything with "AntiVir" "HEBDV" and "H+EBDV".Then download and install.

So far so good. Will post again if problems arise.

Problems have arisen.

I check daily for VDF updates. As soon as the download was done my machine was completely bogged down again.

All done with AntiVir XP until they decide to fix this major flaw.Too bad, it picked up(and blocked)more viruses than any other AV I've used.
