Just read an article by David Pickering on fishing with live eels, and watched a little mpeg video filmed by you. Here is a link to the article if anyone else is interested.

It is pretty basic information for the most part but one paragraph caught my attention:
"It led me to believe there could be some truth to the old saying that some bass fishermen of years past used to make their dead eels more effective by scrubbing them with steel wool prior to using them. By removing that outer layer of skin and slime, the eel has a bluish glow that may make them very effective. Experience has taught me to re-use dead eels that I store in the refrigerator freezer after a night of eeling."
I've only herad about people fishing dead rigged eels, never with dead eels just hooked on a leader. Anyone have any thoughts on this? :bounce:
