Ouch - now are they no longer buying those French choppers and are moving to all 60s?
That I dont know. I do beleive they are doing engine upgrades.
When they first got these things I was on the ship that did the Flight op test phase.
A crane removed it nightly from the flight deck.:eek5:
60's are the way to go but they dont fit so good on their platforms so as a deployable resource the 65 will probably be around for awhile.
Why French? Why English engines in the 110's? Why Volvo's :yak: Lobbyists I guess.
On a different avaition note when Katrina hit all (almost)helos went to assit so here they had I think Michigan AirSta and Oh Canada CG cover the cape. The Kanooks had a hopped up Huey that would zoom. :grins:
