Slipknot 02-16-2006, 06:39 AM you're not old enough what are you brewing?root beer? :lasso: Karl F 02-16-2006, 06:51 AM Christian, build more plugs :D missed you at plugfest. stripersnipr 02-16-2006, 08:32 AM Been brewing for a longtime. IPA is my favorite. Quality is hard to match by commercial suds with a few exceptions. The Dad Fisherman 02-16-2006, 08:34 AM I used to all the time but I've gotten away from it lately. My wife has been making wine so we've been drinking a lot of that lately. I still love a good IPA...nothing better on a hot summer day....I'm a huge Hop Head. Then again I love Lagers, Ales, Pale Ales, Red Ales, Brown Ales, Stout, ESB, Porter, Pilsners, Fruit Beers, Bitters, Heffeweizen, Trappists, and Barley Wine.....hmm, that Could be why I needed to cut back on it... Did I mention I'm a big fan of Mead too.... BigFish 02-16-2006, 08:36 AM So your a "mead head"?:bl: :gu: mrmacey 02-16-2006, 08:43 AM Bread in a sock, stick it in a Jar filled with orange juice, Let rot or fermente what ever you call it dont get caught or you go to the hole!!!:D seen that senario somewhere cant remember where The Dad Fisherman 02-16-2006, 09:10 AM So your a "mead head"?:bl: :gu: I'm more of a "Insert Available Beverage Here" Head :hihi: Saltheart 02-16-2006, 10:43 AM I have been brewing for 23 years. Won many contests. At one point I was having genuine East Kent Goldings and Hallertau mttlefrueh hops fedexed to me from England and Germany .Nothing like fresh hops! I do syrups and all grains. all grains taste best but involve much more time. Smokey and I and another guys made 20 gallons the Friday after Thanksgiving. 10 gallons partial mash , 10 gallons all grain. All excellent. Keep everything well sanitized and you have half the battle licked. Beyond that , try different things and keep good records. You will eventually develop some great recipes. redneck24 02-16-2006, 02:49 PM tried, failed. Christian 02-16-2006, 04:22 PM you're not old enough what are you brewing?root beer? :lasso: well i started with rootbeer. beer illegal to buy under the age of 21 but its legal to brew! guy at a brewer store, "so what kinda of beer do you like?" me, "well im 19 so ive never actually tasted beer before sooo..." haha, im not brewing to make beer to get drunk, i could easily aquire the alchohol to do so if i wanted, but i do not. its just another hobby. so far me and my brother have made a porter, pale ale, oktober fest, and a stout. right now im fermenting a blue berry porter. we've been using the kits, but are about to move to doing some from "scratch." im getting the plug shop back in order right now. ive got a tun of stuff 3/4 of the way done, ive just been schooling/working/fishing too much lately. youll see some stuff soon though, big needles.
