Tagger 02-17-2006, 04:54 AM Skippy got 2 snook on my black and gold large spook this winter ,, 1st time out .. Pm Skippy over there .. He fishes for them .. fishaholic18 02-17-2006, 07:08 AM Shrimp...They love them.. Bronko 02-17-2006, 07:49 AM I have fished quite a bit down there. Lots of silver with black/blue backs. Flesh/cream/white colored are popular too. The majority of the baits down there are in these color patterns. (shrimp/threadfin herring/grunts/pinfish etc) I'd spin a few poppers and spook type plugs as well. Walk the dog under the mangrove overhangs and around dock structure. But if he is from down there, he knows the drill! :btu: Canalman 02-17-2006, 08:48 AM Red/White is the classic snook killer... at least that's what I'm told. I f I were you, I'd look up some of the bait down there and copy that. They have bunker, pigfish and "greenies" which look like greenish herring. I'm sure there are many others... tons of bait down there. Flaptail 02-17-2006, 09:25 AM Dave, in my limited experience with Florida fishing I have a question, West or East coast? See in Florida the west coast guys use plugs ( mostly plastic like Mirro-lures) and the east coast guys love jigs and rubber. One of the more popular plugs used to be a darter ( I will post a pic) made by a company called Captain Ahab. It's wood and resembles a Creek Chub darter in yellow clown pattern. I will post tonight. Snookies luv them. Also, is you can find, or hell, you could make some Arbogast Chuggers work well for shnooks too. Flaptail 02-17-2006, 09:27 AM DOA rubber works great too, especially shrimp looking stuff. Tagger 02-17-2006, 04:58 PM skippy told me if it will catch bass it will catch snook JHABS 02-17-2006, 05:08 PM Make Little Poppers , Caught many Tuna on a small blue Popper in Florida................ justplugit 02-17-2006, 08:58 PM Thanks all you guys, your the best, and i really appreciate it. :kewl: He will be fishing the west side, gulf, looks like i'm gonna have to make him more than a couple with all the colors and plugs uze guys suggest. :hihi: :D PNG 02-18-2006, 04:40 PM These are going to the Key's tomorrow + others.
