So Shimano sent me a new Calcutta 400TE instead of repairing the reel I sent in for service...good enough...
The new reel seems to have much more side to side play in the drive shaft, and the anti-reverse isn't nearly as fast as I remember.
Have these reels changed, or might there be an issue with the new reel?
thanks - spence

I'd be a little nervous, typically they seem pretty consistant from reel to reel when they arrive new.
Also I rarely see Shimano service return a brand new reel if they decide not to repair your original reel, unless it says otherwise I'd guess that reel is a rebuild. That's what most our repair slips say when we get a different reel back from the one we sent in.

I'd be surpised if it wasn't new...looks perfect. I'll swing by the new store this week, I'd like to see if the customer service is any better at the new location :usd:
