The combine is wrapping up in Indy and the draft is around the corner!
Any of you guys here have an idea who you're team is going to draft or what positions they are looking to fill???
My Raiders are sitting at # 7 in the 1st round
I'm not too sure who they are looking at but I pray they have no intentions of picking Vince Young !!!
I heard on am850 today that he scored a 6 on his intelligence test at the combine!!! :laugha: :laugha: :laugha:
They said on the radio that score indicated a severe learning disability !!!
How many of you Pats fans here remember Michael Bishop and the stories of how he couldn't read the play book!!!
The guys on the radio even made jokes that even Sebastian Janikowski scored a 12 on his test when he went to his combine !!!:laugha:

Yeah those guys on WEEI are just sooo smart too. Lots of people have learning dissabilties, its quite common and normal. All it means is it takes people a little longer to take in infoformation, thats all. Doesnt meen they are stupid. I dont see the humor in weei making fun of that. I see you do though...

It was the weekend and not weei (maybe fox sports)
Out in Oakland we have had 1 stupid quarterback in Kerry Collins for the past few seasons,(the word is he's done there ) we don't need to draft another!!!
Would most Pats fans want to bring back Bledsoe and get rid of Brady ??? I doubt it !!!
Playing quarterback in the nfl is all about being smart and making quick decisions !!!

Raiders should try the aging veteran Doug Flutie for a full season....bet he wins 3/4 of his games!:btu:

I dont think his learning dissabilaty affected him much playing football at Texas. He looked good to me. eei was talking about the scores other players have gotten in the past. Most of the guys that scored the highest turned out to be stiffs!

Who said he had a disability? maybe he doesnt test well, or maybe he just isnt the brightest bulb in the drawer...

I heard 16, which is average for the NFL, a bit low for QB's The mannings were mid 30's Brady was 30ish....

In Texas he ran a very SIMPLE offense... check down a few recievers, if it isnt there run the option...
also he was ALWAYS in the shotgun... I give it 30/70 he is a good NFL player, and that has nothing to do with his head and more just his skills...

Raider Ron implied he had a learning dissabilty and for some reason thought that was funny....The guy is great ON the field. Who cares wether he got a 16 on the test is what im saying. I doesnt affect him on the field. Not everyone is as smart as RR i guess....:rollem:

Bingo. Who was the last good QB to come out of the Big 12? Hint--it was still the Big 8 at the time, and he ran an option offense at K-State ;)

And by "good" I don't mean a guy who hung on a long time as a journeyman, like Kordell Stewart. And you can't judge Chris Simms off one year.

If Young was ALWAYS in the shotgun, as previously stated, that will be a negative in the eyes of NFL teams. They want to disect QB's footwork, ball hiding, and dealing skills in those all important first three steps back from center. That is going to be 65% of a young quarterbacks play set in the NFL. Ask Michae Vick, who first had to focus on his footwork, then putting some 'touch' on his lazer balls in order to become one of the better all around QBs.

Don, watching his passing this past year, his choices were much improved. Could be the real deal with a break out year this season? Just pure talent that has been tuned, and maybe some of the pounding will have sunk in, not to mention seeing lil brother Marcus having his carrer all but taken away for bad decisions off the field. Michael took more sacks this year, which were positive growth, based on the fact that he stayed in the pocket longer trying to locate open receiver, then eating the ball, whereas before he would just tuck the ball and try to make something on his own. He completed more passes by delaying the urge to take off.

i'd make him a running back- he would be the best in the league. that other qb the falcons have is as good as vick according to some of his team mates.

Young initially got a "6"...And then for some reason they let him take it again and he got a "16"..Maybe he should keep trying.. :D

I think Young would be best as a linebacker.
The guy is HUGE and fast as a deer
And absolutely Don
Matt Schaub is a much better quarterback than Vick!!!
Vick is a bust as a quarterback and should be a running back or a corner with his speed!!!
