Matunuck, RI if there is some warmth and the wind is coming from the South West - of course, most people are traveling to this spot on the weekend anyway... Weapon of choice is the 3/8-1/2 ounce white upperman jig & grub tail or small plastic like a 3in Cocahoe or FinS (all with or with out teaser)... Like mentioned, everyone and their brother's dog's vetrinarian will be there on the weekend - unless the wind is out of the north or east - then it will be empty and almost always empty of fish too... Here are a couple shots from last year.... http://www.striped-bass.com/Images/ww416b1a.jpg http://www.striped-bass.com/Images/wwmaguire1.jpg Mal Greene 04-09-2002, 07:55 AM Hi John and thanks for the welcome. I hail from Lyman ,Maine which is located aprox. 10 miles due west of Camp Ellis. Saltheart 04-09-2002, 07:58 AM Hey!! Is that me right over the guys right shoulder? I have a coat and hat just like that but don't remember going to the wall wearing it. You remember if that's me John? Like it don't matter ......but I'm just curious. JohnR 04-09-2002, 08:09 AM Saltheart - I don't think you were there that day last year - MOF, I don't think I saw you at the Wall last year. You & Smokey were there on other days... That was the first day of fish last year too - late as that was the 6 or 7th of April. Tommy got 2 and the Doc 1. I got my first the next day... Hey Mal - Camp Ellis is one of my favorite places. I have a few friends that live there year round and I used to fish there a lot. From the end of the marsh at Murder Creek (Huey sized Skeeters), to the Commercial dock & beach, to the million dollar home with the three million dollar view ;) (the owner gets a few decent bass by the dock parking lot), Nun's Beach, Goosefair Brook ;) .... A lot of nice fishing from shore right there. A lot of nice fishing from boat too just off the islands out front or trolling the jetty with tube-n-worm. I hated to think about fishing with the tourists on the jetty - never even tried. Just don't get the chance to fish there like I used to.... Fish_Eye 04-09-2002, 08:25 AM Hi John, Nice job of capturing our salt water version of "Opening Day" for the guys in the pinstripe suits. West Wall...who hasn't heard about the West Wall -- It's like Ft Wheterill to scuba divers. If you dive, you know what I'm talking about.
