Please help me overcome my obsession w/ buying fishing stuff.
Last night I started playing w/ Excel to figure out how much $$$ I have spent in the off-season. I then imported the data into QuickBooks for analysis. I think QuickBooks does not understand the relationship between fishing expenses and my sanity or lack there of.

Expense Summary 2006

New rods (3) = $725.00
New Reels (3) = $960.00.
Wood Plugs (41)= $800.00+/-
Pt Jude tin (25) $200.00+/-
Terminal/plastic/jigs/fluro/tackle box =$500.00 +/-
Boat work-$6800.00 (lots of cool stuff)
New boat slip $3100.00.
New Truck---- I don't even want to think about that cost. However, it will be a pretty cool sand sled.

I have a major league problem. Maybe a 12-step program to help me is in order.

--------OR-------

Maybe I need help rationalizing the expenses.

My argument:
I am not able to take vacations due to my business obligations.
I work 70-90 hours a week for 9 months. Thankfully, my slow months 50-60 hours a week are in the summer.
My dog is too stupid to go to college and I have NO KIDS.

Do I need help? Nah, I just need to fish!!!

3 weeks and I will have all the reasons in the world to justify the cost.

Happy New Season!
Bruce

yes, I have a Parker23 SE and love it. Every time I am on the water is like a mini vacation. It keeps me semi-sane.

The 23SE is a great boat. It deserves all the love and affection you can adorn it with, ie new rods and reels.
Keep up the great work.

If you do not have kids, it's no biggie!

After sending two through college and one more to follow it's not a lot of money.

25K to 30K anually for the past 8 years for tuition. Four more years to go.

After that the 18' Parker will become a 23' Parker with radar and all the toys.

If it makes you happy, happy, happy go for it.

Since you have no kids...............I can be your son. If you are willing to spend that much in pursuit of striper............you're perfect! I already have my college too!
