Is this the truth? Flaptail 03-22-2006, 02:37 PM Outdoor Life better do so more research. 125 is the what they ( there were two in the same seine) estimated to have weighed before they were gutted. The 112 is the gutted weight. Also, a Francis Miner caught and weighed an 89 pounder on Block Island in the 1800's but the documentation was lost. He caught it on a rod and reel. The block island bass is the one that is the print of the man and the striper but the striper has no stripes, right? Canalman 03-22-2006, 03:52 PM Too bad there are no pics... I'd love to see what that looks like. Now Raven before you get any ideas... I don't want to see a photoshop job with a 125# bass being hoisted by Chewbaca or something like that :laughs: :laughs: -Dave Canalman 03-22-2006, 03:52 PM or..... maybe I do:tm: :rotf3: BernOC 03-22-2006, 07:30 PM intestesting article from the Block Island Times on Francis Miners bass... http://www.blockislandtimes.com/News/2002/0727/News/043.html piemma 03-23-2006, 09:28 AM 125# in a seine net is what I read. I have a picture of an 82 pounder caught by a commercial rod and reeler and sold to Fulton that MSBA bought and had shipped to the Old Sportsman Show in Boston where they kept it on ice. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
