Good for her! Glad to see S-B winners.

Now Joe, if she isn't gonna be in the surf, find her a good boat set up that will be hers. This is assuming she will be primarily fishing on the boat with you. (And let me know what you want for that rod):jump:

Congrats to your daughter!!!

that 1204 would look mighty nice in my collection...let me know if you do plan on selling it as I would be VERY interested.

If you are a boat person and you are going to sell it I have a brand new penn 975LD that has only been used twice that I am willing to trade for the 1204...let me know if you do plan on getting rid of it.

I will be heading to Mikes to see what he has for a reel, Something cheap but nice, in the middle??

so far she say's NO SALE guys!

She is getting a car soon and will be fishing from shore she says when she can.

What a first rod!! And she just bought her self some nice plugs from Salty at the show, Just need that real now and she is better set up then the old man!!

I am still trying to figure out were I went wrong??

I have been taking her fishing for 10 years, all at my cost, Take her to all the shows again at my cost, Buy the winning ticket and she ends up better off then I do?? I even offered to take the rod off her hands and give her a brand new Diawa Sealine I have in the celing, and she says no way!

Thats it I am charging her for all her bioat rides now! :bounce:

Joe, you can probably go with one of the Nautils for short money and they handle the surf very well.

Congrats to yourself and your daugter on the win!! Tell her to play the numbers she may be on a roll :jump:

Ya know like rainbow, sunset, sweet surf, something like that !!!

Yea I think after this we will have to change the name! But it was Bigfish who branded her with the Scup girl name not mine. that was a few years ago when all she did was scup.

All I have to say is if she gets a 40 this year I am snaping that rod in half!!:laughs:

Raven
03-28-2006, 09:42 AM
scup girl....

but when she catches a 40lb striper then maybe she'll deserve a more befitting title....

careful about snappin her ROD Mako ! she might just push you over board and then drive the boat in circles around ya until you promise to replace it....:bl:

That thing will never see the boat! Its 1/2 the leanth of the boat! Way to long!

Just going to have to take her to the beach, Dam I wish they didn't want so much for the beach stickers now a days.

Congrats. That's a great rod. I didn't enter because I have one already. She's gonna love that thing, a 10' rod that casts as easily as an 8' one.

I think a Stradic or Spheros 8000 would be a great fit for that reel. They're smooth, they both spool line evenly, and the Spheros can even take a little dunking. Not as bulletproof as a 704, but there's a learning curve with a 704, even if you run mono on it. Nothing frustrates as much as wind knots.
