Just another way to enjoy the water. This boat in my opinion was so resonably priced, I just cound not let it pass me by. It was the last 2005 leftover they had. For what I paid, I dont care if it sits unused all season! I live right on the bay and never fish it much, now I can. I will admit there will be a huge learning curve but it will be nice to learn new ways to fish. I will admit to being impulsive on purchases and this fits that bill but, I am happy with the deal I got and hpefully will put some fish in it!

Bill, that's a handsome lookin' boat. You'll really enjoy it.

I'm getting a new trolling motor (80# thrust), so I'm excited to get in the water. It will be like a brand new boat. Had a 55# (12v) and had to really watch how much I used it or I'd be out of juice. The 80# is 24v and will go all day and will move my boat around.

The smaller boats are pretty versatile... you throw a minn kota on that and you can really work in tight to the rocks. Skinny water too.

Good luck

Greg

I'm getting a new trolling motor (80# thrust),

Greg

is it a minn kota? not sure... and what price? if rated for salt water.

if ya dont mind?

Yep, the riptide series is built for saltwater. The 80# thrust is around $750 out of cabelas or bass pro shops. Its my christmas present.

Even though they are made for salt, it is a disposable item. Between the salt and the beating a bow mount takes, I'd say 4-5 years? That would be my best guess of what to expect.
