Ohh, about a month ago we had a thread (http://www.striped-bass.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2762&perpage=15&pagenumber=1) where Mike from CapeCodTackle.com (M&D's) offered to donate 10 PACKS of Storm plastics & jigs to the site/charity of our choosing and someone had the idea of splitting whatever was raised between the site & the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Fund.

Now I don't think I need to mention that Slip & BM hammered the fish with these on the Cape - so we'll just say that they work.

Anyway - we want this to be a fast auction, right? Or do we want a raffle? Now do we want to auction off all 10 or two sets of 5? Any other rules we want to come up with? Now we can do this pretty quick to get things rolling...

If you haven't seen these things, I'll tell ya they are Stinkin' Sweet!

We have:
Croaker Color (Mackeral like)
Bunker (Bunker like ;P )
Mullet (the fish, not Hair Style)
Green Sardine
Rainbow Trout
and Pinfish

Thanks,

John

Speaking of Nautil's those guys sure no how to treat a customer. Three spools, spool case, and a reel bag. I wish I could afford another one myself. :)

Mike you should let me know about the jigs first, I am fartheraway, and need a head start to get there. :D

So the question was, raffle or auction ;) ?

I like the raffle idea. That way everyone gets a chance and maybe be able to raise more money than an auction. Break them up in 2 sets of 5 and raffle off. 2 chances for $5 or 5 chances for $10 or something along those lines. The only problem is collecting money from everyone in the raffle.

I like the raffle idea. How about actually conducting the raffle at one of our get togethers.

Ya, an auction like Fishpart said and likeTobias said.

I like the raffle idea too, although waiting until a leg to occur will be a couple months away and these should be feeding bass in May & June - not July  ...

I do like the split up of 2 sets of 5 - is that OK with everyone?

2 set so five sounds good.

Slipknot

OK, so how much per chance?
should we mail the dough to you John?
What is the cut off date?

Maybe there should be a limit to how many entry chances per member.
2 sets of 5 sounds good, that will give 2 members a chance to win.

Good question slip.

We'll do the 2 sets and I'll do up some "chances" and 2 for $5 / 5 for $10 sounds good. I don't know if we need to set a limit so much as just that those that participate don't go crazy with them :hs: :p ...

Suggestions on doing up the numbers? And have MikeCC's daughter pick the two winners?

Hey - Swimmer, do you have a good way to reach/donate to the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Fund? [irl=http://www.cancer.org/eprise/main/docroot/DON/don_0]Here[/url] is a link to their website and there are several ways to donate but I'm wondering if anyone knows of other ways to donate more specifically to breast cancer or should we go straight to the regular cancer fund. It's really up to all of you.

Thanks,

John

You want to know how hot these are?

While in Orlando, I stopped by Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. They were completely sold out except for a pack in rainbow trout color and one of the tails was ripped off.

I'll definitely buy some chances... raffle sounds like a great idea.

OK - I ginned up a "Raffle Ticket" and I'll post it here. Tell me what you think. And any suggestions for the best way to handle the numbering?
