View Full Version : bloodhound virus???? tlapinski 04-13-2006, 07:16 PM Recently I have been getting a warning pop-up on my computer mentioning a bloodhound virus. Anyone know what this is? basswipe 04-14-2006, 06:32 AM Bloodhound is a Visual Basic worm that spreads via e-mail attachments through Outlook and peer-to-peer file sharing networks. The subject line will refer to "freedom of expression" or indicate that the body/attachment contains a legal notice of some sort. The message will have various attachment names and extensions. Bloodhound/Fili infects all Windows versions except 3.x, but not UNIX/Linux or Macintosh systems. Upon activation the initial version of this worm will block some anti-virus processes (not Norton/Symantec) and compromise other security applications. If you use Norton AV check this out also: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/bloodhound.html JohnR 04-14-2006, 07:40 AM Which AV system are you running? Be sure to do a full, intensive virus scan on your computer and see what happens and let us know... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2024, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
