Is anyone out there experiencing a glut of junk mail recently? :rtfm: I am getting a ton of stuff offering gifts, freebies and credit. It has become such a nuisance lately. I am willing to bet I get at least twenty a day.
They come as e-mails and each and every one uses a different address. My block list is so long I am surprised that I can still get legitimate mail. Any suggestions as to how to eliminate the crap?? :tm:

It is getting worse and worse. If you use software that filters Junk it helps but then the people writing the junk mail craft it to bypass those filters. If you tighten the filters up more you start to bounce some of the good stuff...
I feel your pain. I get 4-500 junk emails a day.
Solution? Have a few accounts, one for real personal, one general, and one to signup (with like Yahoo or Hotmail) to use on sites you know will get spammed...
DON'T answer blind email lists that say you must send to 20 people or your cat will receive 7 years of bad Karma!!! All this does is vaildate your email to the spam queens...
Moved to scuppers....

Also check your computer for spyware / malware. If you are infected all you are doing is shining a spotlight on you saying "Here I am, send me junkmail!!"

Yes John - I have been running spyware and ad ware regularly. It seems as though this problem just started. What a pain in the ass. I am getting tired of adding stuff to my blocked senders list.
Thanks for moving this thread - I realized it was on the wrong site after sending it. :as:
