View Full Version : Pick out a Rod for me >$50
Jonny5-22796 04-21-2006, 01:54 PM Need a new rod for my fiance, I have had her using an oldddd abu garcia crap rod, but now would like to get her something decent, thinking about a cabelas whuppin stick, because she is not the gentle type.
Need a 2 pc and under or around $50
ALSO... Anyone know a place that can install a hitch on my Mazda 3 - thinking about getting a skiff if the gas prices at the docks go crazy ...

Kick it up over 60 and you might find an 8' Tica 2 piece...
Saltheart 04-21-2006, 02:13 PM $50 doesn't go far. If I had max budget of $50 , I think I'd get an Ugly Stick at Benny's. I think they are about $35 or so .
RIROCKHOUND 04-21-2006, 02:13 PM Yup..
and indestructable...
ugly stick from bennys is a good call.
and u-haul will put that hitch on.

Size and weight should be a consideration. I brought my girlfiend out with 9 footer and she was complaining about the weight and lengtht after about 20 minutes of casting. She's not exactly athletic and also has no fishing experience but it's still something to think about.
basswipe 04-21-2006, 02:45 PM Daiwa Sealine-X or Sealine Surf and Jetty.Either one $54.95.The X has been discontinued and can be found even cheaper some places.
Sgt_Nutz 04-21-2006, 03:04 PM I just left Mike's with a 9' Tica for just under $60.
Jonny5-22796 04-21-2006, 03:11 PM Is there a uhaul in the Warwick area?

nightfighter 04-21-2006, 06:53 PM Jonny,
They got whitepages.com too. Better than the real thing 'cause I don't have to go find my reading glasses! (And you can find all sorts of stuff about people and who their neighbors are....:topic: )

I agree with Piemma..fishing with the girlfriend is like bluring the lines of church and state..it should not happen! If you are going to take her, I recommend the tica as well.
