What choices did you make regarding your bigger ticket items for this season?

Personally, I went into kayak mode instead of investing in a VS or two that I have been eyeing for more than a couple years. I hope this choice will allow me to access more areas that are out of my reach from shore.

So Bill has sold off everytthing that's not tied down to trick out the new boat, Bob and I got 8 cylinder guzzlers just in time for the gas price climb, Krispy's gonna bounce of some rocks getting in tight......

Raven, his set up was interesting, but I am not putting a trolling motor on the kayaks. I can't wait to explore this new avenue of fishing though. Waders and Evo2 will be the normal gear until water warms. FF/GPS will be fun to utilize. T&W will be a staple, but can't wait to cast some of the new plugs and esp rubber. I have some GS stuff that is finally going to score of the kayak.

To round out my list. new kayak, kayak with gear from Beachwalker, PFD, paddle, roofracks, and Tahoe... Still need a good 8 foot trolling rod for the yak for T&W.

I resisted most urges. I still need to get a handheld GPS.

Got one Stradic 4000 and a Tica, loaded up on various rubber, picked up odds and ends to fill holes. Most coin was dropped on drywear for me and the kids so that I can get them out kayaking with me earlier and later in the season.

Still thinking about adding an BG6500CL but that might cause me to buy more rods. Then I'd have to sell a couple other reels.

So far, I've spent much less that over the past couple winters.

6 Custom rods and 4- 50vsw and 2- 80vsw reels for offshore. Countless items to build tuna rigs and spreader bars. Plus about 30 new plugs for the striper season. Oh yeah and new outriggers for the boat.

I did the SS bolts on one pair (I have 4 pair of Korkers) I didn't like them in bare rocks. I seems to slide more. They are great on bubble weed though.

to me bolts seem better all around. Just my opinion though.

Zero big ticket items this year. We fish a certain way and loaded up on everything last year when bargain prices were available. good thing cause with all the new publicity lately , rubber will be hard to find in the shapes and colors you want and the prices will go up to react to the demand.

Anyway , I bou ght about $6 worth of the new PT Jude eel bob jigs and that's it. I may buy a new headlamp since my Petsel (?sp) is missing in action. I know I put it somewhere SAFE so i wouldn't lose it but can't remember where. I hate when that happens!!!
