Seriously I can think of some good places that a secure hold on a fish will help.

Wish I had someone to gaff my fish for me....

Tynan that looks like a trout.

I usually take a plastic lip gripper with me. Has never broken and works on blues also. Does no damage to the fish. I forgot where I bought it. It about 6" square in size.

Keith, I will gaff a fish for you anyday. Lol on the trout.
