Some of us have discussed this online and off, where the tides were that day and what may happen if those students were lost and the possibility of anglers finding them now that fishing is kicking in full bore. A lobsterman has found one of the bodys near Pt Jude Light. As anglers, please keep an extra eye open frm the Narragansett shore south and west...

Here is the first few paragraphs of the story:

NARRAGANSETT -- After more than six weeks, the wait is over for the family of a University of Rhode Island student who had been missing since he and two friends borrowed a small boat and rowed onto Narragansett Bay.

Yesterday at about 8:45 a.m., the Coast Guard retrieved the body of Daniel P. Donahue, one of three URI students who disappeared in the predawn hours of March 13.

Donahue's body was found about 100 yards from the Point Judith lighthouse, shortly after a lobsterman spotted it and called the Coast Guard, authorities said.

Thanks,

John

Well, there is a clue that the water is warming. The water needs to reach a certain temperature at depth to re-start the decomposition process and the gasses that it creates which cause bodies to rise to the surface, commonly known as floaters in the Coast Guard.

Well at least there will be some closure for that family.

Just a shame that a bad judgement call by these kids resulted in 3 dead. Most of the time we get away with bad judgement calls (we get wet or look foulish but don't die) but in this case it was fatal. Just a shame.
