When it's super snotty out there I put that over my dry top. luds 05-01-2006, 09:46 AM I've considered this: http://www.simmsfishing.com/za/SIM?PAGE=PRODUCT_DETAILS&CAT=outerwear&PROD.ID=51864 I decided to buy the Guy Cotten Menfall which is pretty much the same as the Grunden's Briggs but the wrist cuffs are tighter and seam like they'll keep water out better. Rock Hopper 05-01-2006, 11:13 AM The AquaSkinz Rampage is a great top for what you might be looking for. It has a hood which is removable for when you don't need one. Overall an excellent top with much versatility. Take a look at it before you invest in soemthing that may not fill the void you're looking to fill. Regards, Kadir Pete F. 05-01-2006, 11:15 AM When my grundens dies I'll try this:http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2589&deptid=947 JFigliuolo 05-01-2006, 11:26 AM The AquaSkinz Rampage is a great top for what you might be looking for. JFigliuolo 05-01-2006, 12:20 PM Since when has fashion become such an issue for fishing......Just wear waders and an F'n rain coat... and take surf up over your coat, up your sleaves/waist and down your waders... Ain't fashion, it's staying dry. luds 05-01-2006, 12:23 PM Since when has fashion become such an issue for fishing......Just wear waders and an F'n rain coat... thanks for the helpful comment. don't think he's trying to look good but just rather just trying to stay dry so he can fish longer. when it's 40 degrees, raining and your standing on a rock getting hit with spray every so often it's kinda nice not to having a wet mop for hair and water running down your arms and back. Just my opinion. spence 05-01-2006, 12:25 PM Since when has fashion become such an issue for fishing... And ask Spence I look like %$%$%$%$ out there! :D woodbutcher 05-01-2006, 01:36 PM Grunden's S'wester. Size XL and I can add a wool watch cap underneath when it gets really cold. Front flap down, and even my glasses stay dry in driving rain. Unlike hoods, no loss of peripheral vision. The straps are junk, needed to replace them with nylon shoe strings. jim sylvester 05-01-2006, 01:44 PM When my grundens dies I'll try this:http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2589&deptid=947 stay away from that rio top material is so thin you can actually see though it wildwood has them and ems has them check them out for yourself... probably why they are $60.00 get what you pay for shadow 05-01-2006, 07:17 PM I like the shower cap idea that was good. But really the simms hat would be great if it wasn't for that damn chin strap. MAC 05-01-2006, 07:23 PM I like the shower cap idea that was good. But really the simms hat would be great if it wasn't for that damn chin strap. got scissors? :) tattoobob 05-01-2006, 08:40 PM I always use a backwards baseball hat, when it is cold or raining I have my LL Bean wader jacket and it keeps out 90% of the water, Aqua Skinz also has that hood, I have never tried it but it is worth concidering. Pete_G 05-01-2006, 09:19 PM Waxed cotton baseball hat for me as well when the weather is warm. Otherwise a fleece cap. I've seen that Simms hat when the rep brought it by. I almost picked up a few for the shop (and one for myself) but I flinched at the $50 price tag. It is a nice piece of clothing though, I still might get one. It will definitely be a bit intense in warm weather, imo. Much better for the fall run... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
