I've been reading this forum for a while now and decided to join in.
I'm heading up to the Cape from Central NJ Friday AM and just can't seem to find anything posted on the net as far as Mid-Cape fishing reports. On The Water had an unsubstantiated report of a keeper striper off Bass River Bridge but that's about it. I'm curious about Bass River and anything nearby. Probably we'll be on foot, none of our boats in yet. Haven't had a striper in three years. Anybody hear anything lately? I'm as desperate as that other guy for a hookup.
(I'll have an avid six year old fishin' bud in tow, so aside from stripers, if you heard about flounder, tautog, anything anywhere, we're interested. Love for her to get a little variety out of the weekend.)
Thanks, keep it up. Love this website.

There have been some keepers caught at the ditch, and in Wareham, that is all I have heard. There are blues being caught already as well. Oh yeah alot of pogies. Welcome aboard and good luck.

You should have no problem finding some schoolies in and around the mouth of Bass River. There may even be some just legal sized fish around. Bring some small white jigs, jerkbaits or kastmasters and you should do all right. You could also try herring if you can get some. I would try around Highbank bridge and the mouth of the river. Maybe stop at the Bourndale herring run on the way down and see if there is any action rather than driving straight thru.

I got a report of a lot of something breaking the surface right off the dock at Uncle Barney's Rd on the Dennis side (my source didn't have his binoculars up). There were some guys down there yesterday, but not having much luck. Could be the water temp was still a little low, but it's definitely on the rise now. Conditions are looking good. I think the fish are there, just gotta find out what they want.
