No one will be happier than me if the Sox sign Clemens.....but......I think it is silly to pay a player $20,000,000 to play for only 4 months....and he only plays every 5th day! Others will start doing the same thing....you will see! Hiring out like mercenaries.....bucks for ball games! Oh well!

My feeling is he will desire to come back to Boston to end his career as he started it...it will be the thoughts of the grand ovation he will get, and the opportunity to play for a great Sox team and maybe another ring!:btu:

I don't think the Astros are as much a contender as the Sox.....and that among the other things mentioned will be what he hangs his hat on!:rtfm:

He's never going to get 20 mil for the season, it'll be pro-rated and he'll end up with 10 mil for half a season. I'd still take him for that price. Hired gun.

But he's waiting till mid June so he can see which team has the best chance of winning it all, and that's who he'll sign with.

I'd love to see him finish his career here.

As much as I hate the man's personality, I can't deny his ability. They don't call him Rocket for nuttin'. With Rodg. and the rest of the lineup, the World Series is assured. If Ya haven't noticed, the Sox are rockin'!

Its all the money as reported......otherwise why pro-rate it? Just say its 10 million? Everything I saw or read said $20,000,000 dollars to come pitch for the Astros....that was their offer and nothing I saw or read said anything about being pro-rated?
